Last rally of the first half of the season already. I've heard rumours that Novikov has got budget problems and his season could be over already..

If Novikov won't have a drive does that pave the way for Atko to make a return?

Only if Atko has the money himself!

Sardinia's a really good rally. Unfortunately it will remind us that we're missing two stars... Atkinson and Galli.
I wish we could see an entry list looking like this... Loeb, Gronholm, Sordo, Hirvonen, Latvala, Atkinson, Petter, Henning, Gigi, Ogier.
The 4-way fights at the top have been fun, but there needs to be more interesting stuff to watch down lower. Personally, I could just watch the entire rally on-board with Loeb and be happy, but when he displays his driving prowess people complain. I hope Mikko and JML can put on a good performance and take it to Loeb.
Forget the points, Jari-Matti!... go for the win! It's much more interesting when you're fighting for the lead and driving on the limit rather than cruising in for a podium. Go for it, regardless of what others say!
I'm surprised that people around these parts would want to dump him. Who cares about points? Drive 10/10ths and I'll be happy. Drive on the limit! That's what this championship is all about, that's how you get fans and promote the brand of Ford. That's how McRae did it anyway.

Atko is driving the zero car at Rally Queensland, the Australian round of the APRC, which is held around the same time as Sardinia I think. Anyway, I think Atko is enjoying his little holiday. Rallying is not a very popular sport here, and I think Atko would struggle to find significant funding for our national rally championship, let alone one WRC event in Europe. I think he has his sights set solely on Rally Aus and maybe one or two others.
As for Latvala, he only seems to have one speed...flat out. He just needs to peg it back a little, and finish in a strong position, so he can challenge for the win on the final day. Yes McRae did drive at (or over) the limit, but he also knew later on in his career when to back of and secure the win, and to secure points for the team.

Latvala has always been like that though. Even in his British rally days he made many mistakes that were the result of not being able to tone it down a bit. I like the guy but he, like mcrae, won't be a consistent championship contender. Still he is a hell of a lot of fun to watch!

Novikov and Ostberg are back too. They should be entertaining.
Prokop vs Kosciuszko should be good too.

On P. Solberg's website says that he was going to be in this rally. I wonder why he isn't. Could it have something to do with the laptop that was stolen, or is it because he isn't 100% recovered from his illness. I hope it isn't a finantial issue, that would be a terrible blow for him and all the Rally fans. Flip P.S. still trying to figure out my tippings

Viv, am I the only one who can't believe that it's nearly a year since your trip to Rally Sardinia!? That has FLOWN by!
With regards to Petter, his website also states a week's holiday with the family and because he is a FIA Priority 2 Driver, he has until 11th May to submit an entry.
On the tipping front, I will tip closer to the event.

You can do as you like, as long as the final one is in by the deadline.
