Playing the semi-final at the moment. Saturday-Sunday game. Today we made 150, which is okay considering it's a big ground. We would've liked 180. I made 17 and I think I'm on target to win the batting averages for the team. The good news is, we had 4 overs at them at the end of the day today and got them 2/5... 2 wickets, 5 runs (for the benefit of those who do it the other way). Should be a good day in the field tomorrow and hopefully we'll get through to the final.

Thank god we beat India with half a team. I've been having a go at Shaun Udal, saying he didn't deserve to be in the team, and now look what he's done. He bowled great today.
Monty, Monty, i nearly cried when he missed that catch, but he made up for it. What was Dhoni thinking?
Jimmy Anderson back in the team and taking wickets. This would be my team for the ODI's
Strauss Solanki Bell Pietersen Flintoff Collingwood Jones Blackwell Plunkett Ali Anderson
How did your final finish Viv?

We got them 8 down, but they made the runs. It was a bit disappointing because we didn't play our best. We put down a catch off the first ball of the day then dropped a couple more easy ones in the slips. Had we played our best, we'd probably be playing a grand final this weekend. Oh well, can't win a premiership every year. Maybe next year.

My season kicked off with some friendlies last weekend. My debut for the U16 (having spent the last couple of years out on loan at u16) last Friday night in a 20:20 friendly match against the local district side, which is made of the best players in Coventry, including two bedworth players. I disappointingly found out before the start I wouldn't be playing in the 4th team on Saturday, fixed that opening the bowling by getting out the 4th team captain's son, playing for the district side that night. I ended up with figures of 4-1-4-1 as we restricted them to just over 100. In reply we cruised to victory. ScorecardReportThe league proper starts this weekend, with the first saturday league matches and a round of Sunday friendlies, where I somehow find myself playing for the Under 19's (which doubles as the Sunday second team). So, I could end up not even making the 4ths Saturday, and be in the 2nds come Sunday. Let's hope I keep up the good start. Anyway, this goes to Viv or any Australians. Can you tell me a bit more about mark Cosgrove and Travis Birt who are playing as overseas players this English summer. I saw Cosgrove playing in Bangladesh last week, but no little about him or Birt.

I'll bat anywhere, generally lower down 9 or 10. Occaisonally I'll go higher if there's a couple of overs to go as I am quick between the wickets (or take suicidal runs, you decide).
I open the bowling with medium-ish, maybe a bit quicker swingers and cutters. Generally I'll bowl to keep the rate down and stop the other team starting well.
I spent the winter working on both disciplines, it seems to have paied off with me opening for U16 and getting into the Under 19's side. I just need to play on a Saturday though, as that's what really matters

Do you swing it both ways? I'm considering making a come-back to slow-medium poo bowling. I haven't bowled it for about 8 years but I enjoyed it and I'm not getting a bowl with my offies or leggies anymore. I have a natural big outswinger but I'm working on an inswinger. Sounds like you've got some good control. Would've been nice to have you in my side when I was captain. My bowlers were fast and all over the place... a nightmare to set fields to!

I can swing both ways, but when I play on a Friday night I have to bowl to the short boundary as the other opener can drop it short. Because of that, I'll generally bowl outswing, but come the weekend it doesn't matter. I try to get plenty of fielders in the covers etc. to try and make a wall to stop runs getting through. That's how it worked last week, I bowled everything outside off stump and they drove it to the covers every time, miscued one and he was caught.
I am playing Saturday against my old U16 team Newdigate (i hated playing there) second team (for the fourths). a bit of confusion last night as I almost ended up playing for the thirds, but hopefully I'll open tomorrow(or bowl properly) and on Sunday.
It's the second time I've played 3 games over a weekend, but the first I've properly been involved with (eg. bowling).
I'm hoping for a good'un.

That's what we call making a mess of someone's wickets!
What drama at the fourth test between England and Pakistan! Pakistan were accused of ball tampering, with England being awarded 5 runs and a new ball as punishment for the tampering. Bad light meant an early tea, the two England batsman came out with the Umpires for the two required minutes went back in as Pakistan refused to come out! The bails were removed, with the two minutes passing looking as if Pakistan had forfeited the test! Pakistan later came out but the umpires and England stayed in! Be interesting to see how this ends!

Absolutely crazy. England have been awarded the test match so win the series 3-0. Hopefully it's resolved by the one dayers cos I've got tickets for the ODI at edgbaston. As for my season, personally my form dropped off, but the u16's won the coventry League northern division, and then on wednesday we beat Sphinx (southern winners) to win the Fred Gardner trophy in a very very tight game. bedworth.play-cricket.com/scoreboard/scorecard.asp?id=10264041
