TV? Well we get Australia's home games live on free-to-air. And Australia's away games live on Foxtel (cable). Nothing else. There are hardly ever domestic one-day games on TV and never 4-day games, not even finals. We got The Ashes on free-to-air, but only because a smaller channel bought the rights... the usual channel wasn't going to show it.

I remember seeing a couple of Womens World Cup games a few years ago on cable. But there's no way we'd get juniors on TV. Not a chance. Soon our TV broadcasters will only play Twenty20 games. They'd prefer to play day-time soapies.

I have noticed when watching the Australian coverage (Channel 9) that they'll keep saying "goodbye to our Adelaide viewers" at about 4pm. You don't want Cricket interrupted by that.

Looks like we're doing our worst to lose in India, half the team's injured and Trescothick's disappeared.
My team now would be: Strauss Cook Bell Collingwood Pietersen Flintoff Jones Blackwell Plunkett Hoggard Harmison
We're down to the bare bones.
Also, something that makes me sick:
Zimbabwe 2006 v Kenya *Terry Duffin Elton Chigumbura Keith Dabengwa Ryan Higgins Anthony Ireland Blessing Mahwire Hamilton Masakadza Keegan Meth Waddington Mwayenga Edward Rainsford Piet Rinke Gregory Strydom Brendan Taylor Prosper Utseya
Zimbabwe 2003 World Cup Alistair Campbell - added 10th March 2003 *Heath Streak Andy Blignaut Dion Ebrahim Sean Ervine Andy Flower Grant Flower Travis Friend Douglas T. Hondo Douglas Marillier Stuart Matsikenyeri - added 10th March 2003 Brian Murphy - withdrawn 10th March Henry Olonga +Tatenda Taibu Mark Vermeulen - withdrawn 10th March Guy Whittall Craig Wishart
They could have had one hell of ateam. I hope the ICC do the sensible thing and ban them from test cricket and throw all the "backstage players" in jail.
Just out of interest, Dougie Marillier (2003 squad) played for Bedworth (my team) the year before, and Mark Vermeulen played one thursday ngith match. They put on 180 in 18 overs.

South Africa v Australia... WOW!!!!!!!!!!! the best ODI ever.
Gibbs is a legend. i thought the Aussies would come back from 2-0 down to win, and they almost did. After Gibbs got out and kemp and boucher seemed to have lost it i was worried, but somehow they snook it.
i even forgot about England getting slaughtered. Perfect sunday afternnon entertainment.

Yes, but that wasn't against the best bowling line-up the two best teams in cricket had available. Shows what happens when you take McGrath, Pollock and Warne out of world cricket. I hope we get a new breed of top bowlers soon. All these runs are getting boring.

Farout. My whole school is upset! Our Pastoral Dean (incharge of puishment) is South African and decided to really rub it in By wearing a South African Cap and shirt. One guy got a Friday after School detention for getting agro! Sad really. Congrats. to RSA for beating us. This game will go down inhistory for all the right reasons except Mick Lewis who has the worst boling figures ever from an ODI

It was a good win, but I'm sure it doesn't make up for what happened in the World Cup.

which world cup? 1992, 1999 or 2003. They've messed up loads.
Looking forward to the test series, looks a cracker.
my question...why no Bracken? The best bowler in the ODI's, maybe (in my opinion) should have won player of the series

Because he's hopeless. I have a thing against Bracken, 'cos he's been ordinary for ages. He bowls slowly and I can't believe he gets any wickets. I can't believe we haven't picked Gillespie. My side would be: Hayden Langer Ponting Hodge Hussey Symonds Gilchrist Warne Lee Gillespie McGrath Squad: MacGill, Clarke, Bracken, Haddin. Bracken is good for a bit of variety... left arm, swing, cut, similar pace to McGrath without the control. He's not a threatening bowler... Kasper is a more dangerous bowler. Gillespie is a big wicket-taker. Lee has become the most dangerous fast bowler in world cricket. McGrath is McGrath and Warne is Warne. Gillespie deserves another shot until Tait is back to full fitness/form. We're not going to win by playing a patience game with South Africa... that's an English tactic. We need to destroy their top order in every innings, 'cos they're too good to let them settle. Gibbs, Smith, Kallis, DeVilliars will pile on the runs if we dont get them early. That's why we need an aggressive, proactive bowling attack. That's my take on it anyway.
