Why never any news about Peugeot team?((( Solid, consistent finishes. It would be interesting to see whether the works Peugeot team is planning a comeback for next season.

Why never any news about Peugeot team?((( There is speculation that the Peugeot management had placed an indefinite media ban on their drivers since Round 6. Allegations have been made that that such measures are an attempt to silence the drivers and various other personnel, as they have nothing but ill-mannered opinions about the Peugeot 307. The respective sponsors are not happy with the manufacturer pulling such as stunt and questions are raised as to whether the sponsors will stay on board next season. There is no news as to when the silencing will be lifted. Ironically, a Peugeot press officer did release the statement that drivers RJ and Igor are concentrating on getting back on track in terms of the remaining RFC season and that fulfilling media committments were much less a priority. Whether the statement has any substance is yet to be known.

More unrest at Red Bull
Red Bull Skoda driver Chris Finch has continued his attack of the team, this time criticising their ability to produce a good car. "For god's sake, we are battling for the manufacturer title and we cannot even get a good finish. We are lucky to still be so close to the leaders. Hopefully we can still win it, but we will need better performances since that."
The latest rumour around service park is that Finch could be off to Stobart next season. When asked about this, he replied, "I would love to join Stobart. I've been watching them since I was a boy, and I love the colour scheme. My attention is here at red Bull for the minute, whoever I join next saeson."
It seems to this reporter that Finch needs to stop moaning about the car and get on with the job.

This is the 1st rally that Peugeot has not been mentioned since adopting the new format. Sorry I am trying to talk evenly about every team. Basically the team that performs well or very badly will be reported on, or if there is a good fight for a position.

Basically the team that performs well or very badly will be reported on, or if there is a good fight for a position. Oh no, Gren, I didn't mean this. I was talking about so-called "news from tests". All teams have been seen on tests, but not Peugeot. Maybe it's me who doesn't understand? Should I post such news on my own? Just can't understand how your system of testings work.

News from Ford: "THIS CAR IS FAST!!! The engineers at Ford have come up with some changes and suddenly the car is so much faster! You can see that it was capable of stage wins in Japan and now on every surface. It's almost too fast for the drivers because me and Nicole have had trouble keeping the things on the road. I hope this speed continues, 'cos it's a real hoot to drive!"

**Cyprus Rally Preview** Rally Cyprus is one of the toughest and slowest rallies of the year. Giant rocks line the mountain roads which makes the chances of car damage a very real threat. And if the conditions weren't bad enough the drivers also have to contend with the heat. Temperatures have known to soar to over 100 degrees F which over heats both driver and car. Reliability is the way to win rally Cyprus. Also waiting for others to make mistakes and inherit places is usually the best strategy. Shakedown will take place on Saturday which should give us an idea of who will be fast. Going into the rally Curt leads the pack but is being pursued by many drivers. For most drivers the championship is still wide open as almost every team has a driver that could still take the title. Until Cyprus.....

News from the OMV Peugeot Norway Team driver Igor.
Inspired by the recent pace of the car (compared to the beginning of the season of course), Igor signed a contract with the Tolkien Entr. company and, starting from rally of Cyprus, his suit will contain the arts of the Ring. Few photos will be available soon. On the technical side, the car got new, better dampers, the tests of which, together with the new colosuit, were held few days earlier.

*DAY 1* Rally Cyprus opened up with a bang! Nicole set the fastest time benefiting from a good road position. Taking 2nd place was not 1 or even 2, but rather 3 drivers. R83, CFinch, and Tumbo all set the 2nd fastest times. Rally Japan winner Nick struggled on the stage when dust got into his engine causing his car to run on "safe mode". *DAY 2* Day two would be one to forget for many drivers as the majority seemed to struggle on the stage. Matt was to be on of the few to excel on the stage in his last drive in a manufacturer Xsara. James drove his Fabia well ending the stage with the fastest time. Nicole lost her lead and dropped like a rock when her power steering failed. Matt's team mate was not so lucky. Mixa missed a braking point and hit a tree, putting him out of the rally. Not the final rally for the Xsara that he wanted. DAY 3* It was the last day of the rally and Lita, Matt, and CFinch were in a battle for the rally win. Lower down the leader board RJ put in some good times and got 6th place. Danii also was consistent through the rally leaving Cyprus with 4 points. The same couldn't be said for team mate Curt though. Curt hit a big rock crushing his rear suspension. The championship leader will have to be more careful in future if he is to hold on to his lead. Suzuki's R83 also had a dreadful end to the rally. Like Curt he hit a rock damaging his suspension. A lot of questions being asked in the Suzuki camp. In the end CFinch kept his speed and took a 2nd win. Lita was pipped by Evo for 3rd place and Matt ended the Xsara's last run in a very respectable 2nd place. What a rally!! Rally Turkey is next!
