Get your priorities right nick! ;D No problem mate, I'm sure waiting a little while wont hurt any of the teams. I wonder if anyone's been using this time to do a little testing?

FIM paid a visit to the Finnish Countryside over the weekend to continue their preparartions for the next event. Team boss Chris Finch said "It was a worthwile experience. The rules allow us to test on these surfaces before the event, so anything like this can only improve us."
FIM only have 3 points from the two events so far, and Finch is looking to have a better finish in Finland. "Our big hope is Gronholm, he grew up on these stages and we want at least a podium from him, and some points from Gigi.

As a mark of respect... Shouldn't we close this chalenge like we did this after GB rally?.. You know what I mean(((
Middle-Earth Rally team is ready to miss Rally Finland RFC in any case in the sign of respect to Richard Burns. We understand it can be our best chance to win, especially with new color scheme and new upgrades to suspension after successful tests in the Shire. But we won't drive this rally in memory of Richard Burns. But we suggest to all RFC teams to drive this rally without regarding places with points. It must be the party of rally, the party of sport and competition in memory of Burnsie. If NO points are given in this rally, MERT will take part in it, otherway we miss it. Thanks.

Middle-Earth Rally Team announcement. The word is given to the principle Lord Sauron the Light:
We saw what moral support our first drive got from the Peugeot team after their withdrawl. We WON'T use the cars by such a firm that doesn't pay tribute to its former drivers. The best values of the MERT team are moral qualities and team spirit. Peugeot team showed none of them when they left the championshi without honoring their double champion and NOW, when they were the ONLY team (in which the pilot drove) not to pa a tribute to Richard "Lion Heart" Burns. Human capital and human qualities are the most important for us. We no longer partner with Peugeot.
If the administration of the RFC allows us, we switch to Ford Focus WRC 06 MERT (look our testings photos) on Michelin for Marcus Gronholm and Citroen Xsara on Michelin for Mikko Hirvonen as our new driver. If the administration doesn't alow us to switch cars in teh middle of the season, we withdraw from this season and ask them to allow us to use the surplus of 2005 budget to buy the Ford Focus WRC 06 MERT for Mikko Hirvonen (as we will use for Marcus Gronholm) and use engine development option in 2006 (!!) season.
We thank all the participants of the championship for understanding our feelings. As the team currently using Peugeot car we want to present our condolences to Richard Burns' relatives and friensds. Rest in peace, our friend and team-mate!

As team principal of TTR I also do not mind you moving teams under these rare circumstances. As long as the team still abides by these Rules (mainly the 60million budget).

At Team Moose Power we've been preparing for this rally for a long time. We're all very keen to compete in this rally and the general feeling around the team is that the rally should not be cancelled.

Administration of the Middle-Earth Rally Team thanks Hyundai, TTR and Mi5 teams for their support and TMP for their very good suggestion:
Marcus Gronholm: I'm ready to drive this rally in memory of my former team-mate and very good friend Richard Burns. I even want to win this rally for him as I won rally Japan in memory of Michael Park. My heart is very heavy after this year of losses... And I promise to make this rally very interesting, so that Burnise could watch it from the sky and enjoi that his business goes on...
Lord Saurn the Light: Marcus Gronholm: 15 mln Mikko Hirvonen: 8 mln Ford Focus WRC 06: 12 mln Citroen Xsara WRC: 10 mln Michelin: 15 mln
Total: 60 mln. If the administration bannes our switching, we are withdrawing and ask to take the surplus of our 2005 budget (it's at least 30 mln) to 2006 season in order to buy the Focus 06 for Mikko and get development possibilities.
If our switching is allowed, we will drive this rally with only one car - of Marcus Gronholm. He already did testing with the Focus in MERT color scheme, so it won't be a problem for him to drive this rally in a new car. As for Mikko, we haven't tested the Xsara yet and don't know this car also. We'll test this car in next two weeks and will be ready to drive with two cars in the next rally. But we promise that Mikko will be in the service park of the rally to get used to his new team! Thanks.

[glow=red,2,300]championship co-ordinator[/glow] official statement after going over the recent comments and suggestions the teams have been posting, curt and myself have come to a conclusion. we give middle earth rally two options. 1. continue the championship with current team 2. retire from the championship on the issue of richard burns on a whole, we feel that RFC is not the place to talk of his death, and to turn it into part of the fantasy game. we have decided it can be seen as slightly disrespectful, although we understand no one is meaning any harm. a good place to go to say a few words for richard is the memorial section of www.richardburns.com

Middle-Earth Rally team official announcement:
We continue our involvement into the championship, but ask the administration not to write the origin of our cars in standigns, as our team does not want to bring points to modern Peugeot team. From now on the name of our automobile is Mert Ringo WRC (licensed Peugeot 307 CC WRC). If you ban this decision, we insist on you not to give points to the TEAM, only to DRIVERS.
MERT before Rally Finland: 9. Marcus Gronholm\Timo Rautiainen (FIN) - Mert Ringo WRC 10. Gigi Galli\Gido d'Amore (IT) - Mert Ringo WRC

Changing the name of the car breaks the original rules posted here. Only cars of these names can be used. Imagine how confusing it would be if everyone changed the make of their car.
