Meh, I'm not geared up for the 2006 V8 Supercar season myself to be honest, Adelaide and the circuit itself has never really g-ed me up to be honest. It'll probably kick up when I see them at the Aus GP. Plus I'm not overly thrilled with Holden dominating the top 10 for the Clipsal 500 Hopefully Ford can pick up the pace during the race

what's that really good long track in the forests, with lots of up and down hills that i remember from TOCA Race Driver. That is the best racetrack in the world

Are you referring this track from the Aussie V8's, chrisfinch?
If so, Bathurst comes to mind. I agree, it is a legendary track, built on a mountain- Mt. Panorama.

There was a 24 hours once but sadly it didn't happen due to some problems with hosting the event. But it's been a 1000km race for years in Australian Touring Car racing

I wish the 24 hour bathurst came back. Bathurst is big anywere in Australia (endurance race). The whole nation stops for the race.
I'm excited though. Especially when they go to Symonns Plains!

speaking of Bathurst i was watching an old Jeremy Clarkson video and it showed you clips of the race it looked mental and to top it off thay had a really cool feature where the media could talk to the drivers during the race

Craig Lowndes finished first in the Race 1 of the Clipsal 500 at Adelaide. His team-mate, Jamie Whincup finished thrd. Looks like Team Betta can talk the talk AND walk the walk.
As always, Adelaide was action packed- epecially at turn 8. Heat exhaustion was a big issue. Hopefully Steve Owen, driving the Autobarn car, is OK.
Roll on Race 2...

For those who missed it, Lowndes' teammate, Jamie Whincup came up with the goods. My my stance that's great! If Craig can't win it, I'd rather Jamie does.
The great thing about the weekend was the influx if international visitors- Rubens Barrichello and Murray Walker. Not to mentioned those already involved in the series ala Tom Walkinshaw, Derek Warwick and Dave Richards.
Brazilian Max Wilson finshed 8th which is not bad considering he's driving the underperformng WPS car.

I was thrilled to see Whincup winning on debut with Ford. But it wasn't a lucky win, he was consistently fast throughout the whole weekend. He's going to get mobbed by Ford fans at the Australian GP

Yeah I even remember myself watching the 24 hours Bathurst Touring car race in 99 as there were same coloured cars than in BTCC.I also watch WTCC and DTM and BTCC. DTM will be seen to normal channel but I watch WTCC and BTCC to web racing channel . Anyway this is the V8 topic so I give a go for it. I dont know much but as was said its sure the season will be intresting once again. Last year there were many exciting races what for I really enjoyed and specially the rain races are cool! All the best I wish for Ford Performance Racing who has new guys behind the wheel once again .

Hey Mixa, You're probably the first and only Finnish V8 fan I've ever known. I love all things Ford. FPR have recruited Mark Winterbottom but still retain Jason Bright in the Cat Ford. I have to admit, I'm not totally impressed with the liveries this year. Almost half of the field has orange! And the GT written across the FPR doors are just a bit too tacky for me.
