Yeah I noticed that about Bright. Anyway yeah Whincup was fast but Kelly´s wasnt too bad also at the weekend. Looks to be an intresting season but havent never thought to see Skaife without points after 1st race . Not a good races for FPR but I hope them will go better at Melbourne.

Don't forget, Melbourne is a non-championship event. So although I want Ford to do well, I wouldn't want them pushing the cars as hard enough as to cause chaos. What happened at Adelaide was bad enough for a championship event.

With the way Whincup's going, he'll be taking some shine out of Lowndsey's championship campaign. Lowndesey will be kept honest. Even more so for champion Russell Ingall, who'll be starting from 21st.
With the reverse grid being implemented in the 3 race rounds, I wonder if teams will be sandbagging in Race 2 to start in a better position for Race 3.

I read in this morning's Daily Tele (a Sydney newspaper) that Channels 7 and 9 are bidding for the V8 broadcasts for 2007. Channel 9 wants it as a lead-in to the footy on Sunday afternoon.
In a space of 2-3 years, V8's have been growing bigger than Ben Hur. It's one of Australia's fastest growing spectator sports!
Personally, I want it to stay with Channel 10. Already broadcasting F1, Champcar, MotoGP, ARC and WRC, Channel 10 is the undisputed home of motorsport.

Channel 7 was rubbish, and are still are, with regards how they show motorsport. I think once every while they might show some rally or F1, not often though. Leave it with Channel 10, they've got everything else and they do a good job about it also

I hate to say it but Holden dominated this weekend. Steve Richards won overall in the real spunky Jack Daniels Racing livery. That car just looks awesome. Pity it's not a Ford.
Skaife did well, considering he was in a HSV (Holden B Team) car, with Todd Kelly also on the money.
Jack Perkins, son of legendary Larry Perkins made his debut today. Had a clean race for a debut so that's good to see. James Courtney finally got his nose clean (at last). 4 crashes in 4 races isn't really a great way to start in the V8's. I do believe he's a natural open-wheeler though.

Holden took the spoils at Pukekohe with Skaifey winning the first and final races and Tander winning the second race.
The issue of having reverse grid races is still divided. Unbelievably, Jamie Whincup is all for it even though he fell victim to it this weekend. Makes good racing from a spectator point of view, but does this system reward the most deserving driver? The most consistent, yes, most fastest, probably not.
Anyhow, Mark Winterbottom had a stellar performance for FPR coming in with second and Brighty was set after the first race but faltered as the weekend went by. Star of the weekend- Winterbottom.

Pretty boring race if you ask me. The whole debacle of this racing room b******* is getting in the way. Random black flags makes the races pretty boring. Still can't get excited over V8 Stupercars.

Anyone know if there's any V8 coverage over here in England?

I doubt it Nick. I mean England is such a motorsport haven, I don't know whether they have the time time to show coverage of the V8's. I wish they did though! It would be nice to show off our product in Europe and the US.
The best person to ask would be Mixa. He somehow gets to watch V8 races via the net and he's in Finland!!!

I've just watched the action from Winton, and I have to say I'm impressed by it. My favourite driver is now Craig Lowndes and his team 888 Betta Electricals.
As for English coverage Nick, I saw it on Motors TV if you have Sky, if not I think it's on during the middle of the night of Channel 5.
