Curt, I just thought of something. For the forum code... for the effetive implementation of the categories.... Filters. Done with success on one of the best discussion boards I've ever used. forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-threads.cfm?f=112See: "group: <drop-down-box>" You still need categories and seperate forums managed from a central hub, but filters/groups within forums might help logically structure/group the sub-forums such as RFC and maybe even TopRally. For instance, it would work perfectly for the Rally section... 5 groups: WRC, ARC, BRC, local/Rallystuff, Other. You instantly do-away with 2 redundant sections (Non-WRC and Other Rallying) with an elegant solution. You could also add PWRC and JWRC... and the ability to select more than one group for a topic. Grab me on MSN if you want me to discuss the idea further.

And another nice feature of whirlpool's boards is the ability to EDIT your post within 3 mins of posting it without it saying you've bloody edited it (cluttering up your post with edit notices).
Another one is flagging a post as offensive/inappropriate which is then automatically referred to the moderator of the section.
Whirlpool also has the best code for quoting a post... select the text out of the post and hit "quote".

I don't fully understand what you mean in the first post. When I mentioned about not being able to work out how to have the categories I meant the V3 forum looked indentical to this one besides the category bars such as:
Rallying Off-Topic Multimedia Website Related
As for the second part they are two good ideas. Maybe an alert could be sent to the moderators through the PM system. The idea of not having an edit note for the first 3 minutes is possible as well. I will have a go at doing them both once Ive finished the competition section.
