Hi, I finally picked up, what is gonna be my rally car for the coming year. It’s a 1996 1.3L SOHC FWD Suzuki Swift. I intend to turn this into a rally car with the very small budget that I have with the help of friends and relatives and of course the guys on this forum. Can you tell me what would be the first steps that I need to take to turn this car into a ‘rally ready’ car? I was thinking: Strip the car to shell Weld the seams Build FIA spec roll-cage Seats/Belts Exhaust Route fuel lines inside the car electricals? Is there anything else? Can the more experienced people here pls guide me? Any place where I can get some info on this? Thanks in advance! Tom Here is what the car looks like:

G'day tom. Are you building the car yourself or taking it to a workshop? Some places will build it up very nicely for not too much. All the safety systems such as the fire extinguishers, etc can add up, but it's your decision cost/benefit. Good luck with the project. Keep us updated. -Viv-

your best to find a championship or races that you want to compete in, then you will have a set of rules that your car needs to be built too, you should also have a general motorsport rules book that will outline all safety stuff needed in the car get these sortedand your off
