Well its a month away now. The fastest Rally of the championship with one stage having a massive 2km tarmac straight where the cars are totally maxed out. Also the most friendly spectator event of the year. Last year the Forties stage was packed and they even brought in a big screen Defending champions are the Mitsubishi duo of Scott Pedder and our very own Glen Weston who won their first ever ARC rally. The rally did go down to the final stage when Bates had to leap frog two drivers on the Super Special to win. He overtook eventual champion Cody Crocker but did not overtake fast Finn Juha Kangas. Bates will be hungry this year as will SImon Evans as he suffered many punctures last year.

This is the one thing I don't like in the ARC, such massive time gaps between rallies. It's like you get into the season, then suddenly it's over!

Yeah! It is awful . It currently sounds like Michael Guest's whining might work and Tasmania might be transformed from absolutely awful boring event into something exciting. Tasmania could possibly be the first round in the ARC to become tarmac. It might even become a Mini Monte as if they run it in the middle of the year we could get snow. I vote for also a Safari in the northern Territory. That would be fun! Hopefully the publicity of ARC will be on the rise soon as more manufacturers will come. I've heard Hyundai and Mazda want to build S2000's for Australia but I'm not sure. Would be fantastic to see more manufacturers and more drivers capable of winning. Imagine if Holden were to announce an S2000 program, rally would be huge as Ford vs. Holden comes back! Before you could have over ten drivers going for a win. Possum Bourne, Cody Crocker, Dean Herridge, Ed Ordynski, Spencer Lowndes, Scott Pedder, Neal Bates, Ben Barker, Simon Evans, Rick Bates, Michael Guest, Jack Monkhouse, Darren Windus, Steve Glenney, Will Orders, Mark Thompson... The list goes on! Other than Possum we could see some awesome driver combinations, the return of some stars... We could have the best championship in the world ;D. Michael Guest also wants rallycross to come back. A big boost for the media to telecast this like they did with the A.B.C in the 1970s. All the rallystars taking on the circuit stars in an awesome battle. I'll keep thinking happy thoughts

I would love to see a proper safari event held up north. As much as I would hate to admit it, a Ford v Holden thing would probably work well, but then again there should be more manufacturers anyway. I don't trust Hyundai, they were planning on doing something back in the mid 90s with Dean Herridge only to pull the plug halfway through.
I like the idea of rallycross, perhaps during superspecial stages instead though
