Sainz and Moya will be in the "cero car" in the Rally of Portugal, on March 31st. ;D Portugal wants to be back in the WRC, and the objective is to be back in the World Rally Championship dates for 2006. In this edition of the Rally of Portugal, the ogranizers did everything based on the FIA's safety rules. In this rally, it will also contest Didier Auriol, Daniel Carlsson, Janne Tuohino and Juha Hankkunen, with four of the five Subaru's Impreza WRX in that rally. ;D There also gonna be drivers like the Finn Katajamaki in a Ignis and the Spanish Daniel Sordo, in a C2. Here's the spanish newspaper's page where I read this (despite I'm Argentinian) . Hope you understand spanish! marca.es/edicion/noticia/0,2458,600542,00.html See ya, Lalo.

That sounds cool! All the Vetaren(sp) drivers are competing against eachother! I've never seen the rally of Portugal when it was with the WRC though. It might be nice to see it return so I can see what its like!

For those of you who can't read Spanish Ive took the time to translate using an online translator: Sainz and Moya will run again together in the Rally of Portugal Spanish Carlos Sainz, two times champion of the World of rallys, and his former one copiloto Luis Moya will run again together the next one 31 of March in the rally of Portugal, announced today Carlos Barbosa, president of the Car Club of Portugal (ACP), organizer of the test. The Rally of Portugal 2005, that aspires to enter the circuit of the Championship from the World the next year, he will include the former champions of the world, that will dispute again together a test after his separation, in 2002, after almost 15 years of contribution. Barbosa announced that Sainz and Moya will steer that of car zero" the eve of the official start of the test, and he qualified that "he will be in the exit 'start' that will be celebrated in the Navy of Vilamoura, in the Algarve". The Spanish pilot anticipated to be today in Lisbon in the presentation of the rally, but "professional motives have been impeded him", he explained Barbosa. The rally of Portugal begins officially the next one 1 of April with two phases, each one with three roundtrip sections, on a distance of 240 kilometers, with departure and arrival in the Stadium of Lighthouse/Loulé, in the Algarve. Looking at al World The objective of the organization is that the test be included in 2006 in the Championship of the World and because of it in this edition they comply all the requirements of the International Confederacy of Motoring (GIVES CREDIT), the president said of the (ACP). The rally bet in the security, "they comply all the requirements, the zones to the ones that can agree the spectators they are totally restricted and controlled", aimed Barbosa. In the test they participated 5 Subaru Impreza WRX supplied by the Prodive for pilots as Didier Auriol, Juha Kankkunen, Janne Tuohino and Daniel Carlsson, that were faced foreign pilot youths and national. Also it is insured the participation of a Citroen C2 official, steered by Daniel Deaf, and a Suzuki Ignis S1600 with the Finnish one Katajamaki al flying.
It will be nice to see Sainz back in action again. He is the best driver of all time, fact! No other driver has won 26 WRC rallies in their career. I can still remember his reaction on the last stage of Great Britain 1998, when he broke down on Margam, only something like a 100 metres away from becoming World Rally Champion for the third time. His co-driver, Luis Moya, who I am also glad to see rallying again since he is currently working with SWRT, said "Mamma Mia, Mamma Mia", then put the back window of the Toyota Corrolla in with his helmet. That was the first ever rally I went to.
