Is the Tesco 99 Octane fuel the control fuel for cars competing in the championship?

OK, I just answered my own question and went to the BRC site.
I wonder how the teams went with tuning their engines for the Tesco fuel? I have seen some dyno work done on a lancer engine comparing high octane pump fuel versus Elf WRF. The pump fuel had much higher exhaust temps and produced substantially less torque than the Elf WRF.
I guess it's all a moot point if everyone is running it though.

Obviously the World Rally Fuel would be the superior blend to have but seeing as everybody would be using the pump fuel, nobody would be disadvantaged as such. Although isn't the ARC switching to BP Ultimate fuel this year? I wonder if that's just high octane pump petrol or a WRF blend if it is so(at least from what I've read at the ARC website)

There are basically two championships now in the ARC. The outright championship will be contested by the manufacturers and Level 1 Privateers. The control fuel for these teams is Elf WRF. There is now also a secondary championship called the BP Ultimate Challenge. This is for Level 2 privateers who nominate which four of the 6 rounds they are going to compete in. The control fuel for these guys is BP Ultimate (98 RON). The BP fuel will be dispensed to the registered teams at the event, possibly from a tanker.

Glan with you saying that you have different fuels in the ARC i wonder if the same is for the BRC as Tesco only sponser the main championship within the BRC

Ah ok, that explains it So essentially the L2 Privateers are using the BP fuel because the Elf WRF is rather expensive ($2.00 a litre if I remember correctly)
