This weekend sees the final round of the 2005 British Rally Championship and the last before it goes all Group N.
Mark Higgins (Eddie Stobart Focus) has dominated all the way through and he has an unassailable lead at the top of the table. Austin McHale (Sanyo Ireland Focus) won the opening round in Wales but has since struggled to match the pace of Higgins. Rory Galligan (Mitsubishi Motors Lancer Evo 8) is battling for third in the championship with team mate David Higgins.
In Production, it's a battle of the Imprezas as Stobart team mates Barry Clark and Lorna Smith battle for the title. Clark has the advantage, but any slip up could allow Smith through to win. Kate Heath (Hot Seat Motorsport) is third.
Super 1600 honours have already gone to Brian O'Mahoney and Shaun Woffinden has claimed the Formula 2000 title.
In the Stars of the Future, James Wozencroft (Suzuki Ignis) has won every round so far and is comfortably ahead ahead of nearest challenger Matt Beebe (MG ZR). The 2004 MG Scholarship champion has a smaller 1400cc engine than Wozencroft, but he is almost guaranteed second place ahead of the more powerful cars. Beebe has won the 1400cc Stars of the Future.
The rally consists of 16 stages over Friday and Saturday around the South of England, and here is the entry list.

And that's everything you need to know about this weekend's Tempest Rally. I'll post up the winners of every class in the BRC on Monday.
