Corrado Provera has retired from managing the Peugeot team in the WRC. The WRC will never be the same again without him and his cigar

Yep, you got that right. I guess it is a good time to go because the PSA is leaving this year. But he could have stayed for the rest of the season though.

He said he didnt want to finish the season as he didnt want to be given the sack when he is 65 years old. So instead he has retired.

It's a good desicion. And I think it can also mean that Peugeot also see a great progress with Nicolas in rallying (I don't think it was only Corrado' desicion - he just announced it), so Peugeot will stay after 2005!!!

Let's just hope he will lead Peugeot in the right direction.

I like Jean-Pier! He is a cool guy! So funny. A very round!!=) And I've noticed in 2004 season, that most of time it was he to talk to Frekelin, other teams' chiefs. He always smiles. I think he is as charismatic as Corrado. And that's great!
