They should be more competitive with it, reliability is just the problem as with Evo 1. Bengue showed he was alright in Monte Carlo, but both fabia's retired www.rallyview.tk

if the engine was developed with audi then i think the reliability question shouldnt be a problem. it seems that skoda are getting a lot of help from audi lately. not only have they helped skoda with the engine one of the drivers alex bengue was from audi's dtm team and he won the dtm championship

Sounds like it should be competitive after a bit of development, although as with any new technology some parts might have a few teething problems initially. I mean Hillman Imps like mine are actually quite reliable for a 60s/70s British car, but early on they had a lot of problems because much of the car is unique to the Imp and had never been tried in a road car, like the engine which was based heavily on a Coventry Climax race engine, and it had a lot of new technology like automatic choke systems and a pneumatic throttle, which were good ideas in theory but turned out not to be dependable at all. A bit of development would probably have sorted them but they discontinued some of the more troublesome developments, but the stigma of unreliability stuck with it even to this day. I know that's a bit off topic but you see what I mean about new technology, if it's a big improvment over the previous model then there will be a few problems to iron out, but I'm expecting some strong performances after a bit of development.
