No way. He's good value. Keeps this championship interesting.
Given his road position, he could throw the cat amongst the pigeons this weekend. Or he could do a Latvala and crash out of P1.

I'd say they should switch Latvala and Henning Solberg around. Ford would get more manufacturer points and Latvala could still put pressure on Loeb.

The thing is, Jari-Matti is a better driver than Henning. Much, much better!
Are we talking about the same Henning Solberg who was a minute behind after 3 stages in Portugal?

Fire Latvala for Petter Solberg. No!! Petter for Proton, or Citro, or a Subaru that Prodrive has not been involved with. Chris Atkinson should get Latvala's place. Flip

Chris Atkinson getting his place would be nice too. But I don't think a side-lined driver will get his place. I think it could be possible that daddy promotes his youngster..

I think Malcolm is so cool that he wont promote Matthew to the top team yet. I mean even when Mattie´s year this year has been pretty good so far! I think Henning could still be a good pick to top team. Ok he dont have the speed but atleast at the manufacturer team he could do consistent job and score some decent points.
The reason why Malcolm kept J-M in the team was just building the confidence back. Malcolm still believes that J-M has potential so why to kick a driver out? Yeah few more reasons and hes out but J-M´s goal is now to drive to the finish line and score some points. The biggest problem is that when building confidence and do the results you can score some points but right away people are saying you are slow and even the driver gets fustrated. As every driver knows, you can do some stupid mistakes while "sunday driving" .
No one cant say that J-M doesnt have the speed but the reason why he looks so fast is because he drives flat out every stage and with that speed you just cannot drive to the finish line. Example at Portugal even despite J-M was in the lead before the big one,he had 3 close calls and few hits to banks already.
Who would be a good replacement? There are so many of them to go for!

If Latvala was consistently crashing and writing off cars (like Duval's effort at Citroen in 2005), then I think he would have already been dropped. Latvala has arguably more pace than Hirvonen, but he lacks consistency and metal experience. He needs to back off, and drive rallies at 9/10ths in order to secure results for the team. All Malcolm Wilson wants Latvala to do is beat Sordo basically, and on paper that's not too hard a task, especially on gravel.
Don't sack him just yet. But if he writes off another few cars and has a couple more DNF's, time to get another driver.

Latvala is one of the very few exciting things happening in WRC at present, so I wouldn't like to see him sacked.
What would we talk about if there was no Latvala?
Will Chris get a drive or not? Can anyone beat Seb? What terrible colour scheme is on that car? Would Petter be on the podium if he drove a decent car?
borrrring.......zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
