Probably a bit late given the first event of the season is done - but never mind. I was just wondering after the withdrawl of Subaru and Suzuki who are you backing in 2009? A team, a particular driver or a private team?
Most people will of known I was a Subaru fan (I own a fair bit of Subaru clothing!) but as the Focus is my favourite road car (a certain McRae helped at the time too), I also backed them. However now I am a full fledged Ford fan - might have to buy some Ford clothing at last!
However I do also like Henning, Petter and Atko. Where are you putting your backing this season?

Henning's hilarious, but unfortunately he's not at the cutting edge.
As a big Atkinson fan, and a long time Subaru fan, I'm not sure who I'll be rooting for in 2009.
I think I'll have to go for the Frenchies: Loeb and Ogier.
I have much respect for Loeb, and I like when champions get the results they deserve (Rossi, Federer, etc). Whenever there's a battle between Loeb and the Fords, I will always be cheering for Loeb and Elena.
I will cheer for Chris and Petter whenever they drive, but in their absence, I suppose I'll support Loeb and Ogier. Possibly because I can't stand the way the Ford lurches around, compared to the smooth and flat handling of the Citroens.

I've always been a Ford fan ever since I've started watching the WRC, while I rate all drivers and teams equally, I'd always prefer a Ford win. Even if the BP Abu Dhabi Focus looks ghastly.

I was a big Subaru fan really, I have a big Subaru sign, mugs, hats you name it ;D
But sadly since they're gone I think in the WRC I will be backing either Atko or Loeb...

Was, and still am a Mitsubishi fanatic. Love the sound of the Lancers, and started watching WRC full time just when Mitsubishi were on the downward spiral. Then became a supporter of Subaru, and I paid keen attention to Suzuki when they introduced the SX4 ... all gone.
Of course being an Aussie I support Atko, and I will always keep an eye on his results. At this point though, I am following the local rally scene here at home in a bit more detail. And I'll be watching Skoda's performance in the IRC closely following the encouraging Monte Carlo results.

Even as a Finn and a long time lover of WRC and our legends I must have to admit that these days Im not too much into them. I cant stand Latvala at all. Hirvonen is a cool guy and a fast driver and I always remember his drives with the Golf Kit Car when he beaten the WRC cars at national roads. Still I find Mikko as a boring character somehow, its hard to explain. My heroes still will be and always are: Alen,Vatanen and Kankkunen. Those drivers introduced me the rally world and maken me to love it. Specially Alen and Vatanen! For current WRC drivers I dont know really. Duval seems to be on and off and I dont know can I cheer for a driver who hardly can be behind the wheel. He will be there but missing a WRC driver is something. Lets say I could be a Citroen fan. I like about Loeb,Atko,Ogier and even when I disliked Conrad before but when I met him and saw how awesome he is as a character,I must have to say that hes a bit like my fav in WRC circles these days even when he doesnt pull out too fantastic stage times. I have seen Sordo aswell and it was nice to talk with him too but those days he was lacking English quite heavily. It was funny but a confusing situation. Also I see a bit that Sordo is there only because hes spanish. Hes results in a factory car all those years just havent been as them should be! Hes extra fast on tarmac but is lacking still on pace at every other terrainĀ“s if we doesnt count the few flashbacks. So overally Im a fan of some legendary Finnish WRC drivers, a fan of Citroen,Francois Duval fan and a fan of Conrad Rautenbach

I'll always be a Subaru fan, no matter what. So for 2009 season I am still uncertain. Drivers that I'll be looking at are Atkinson, Aava, H. Solberg and Ogier. I am still uncertain as to which car make to actually follow. I don't really like Ford nor Citroen, but if I were to chose which of the two is the lesser evil: I'd say Citroen. But, when a Proton is in the list, I'll be following it. I hope for the best to P. Solberg and that he can return to the WRC soon, but I don't see him going too far with his 2006 Xsara. I am still eager to find out what he is going to be doing: WRC or LeMans? If WRC: Proton, Fiat? I suppose that only time will tell.

I'm of course a Duval fan and not just because I'm Belgian, but because he's a great driver, he only doesn't get the real chance to show it.
Apart from him I like Hirvonen and Loeb, preferrably battling it out.

Since he arrived at Ford, i've been a fan of Mikko. Been following him since he competed (the only time i've seen a competitive car with the number 0 on it - MSA dispensation I believe) on my car club's event - the Cambrian Rally. He won that so i've always followed him since. Now Jari is on the scene, i've become a good fan of ford. Although I still wear my Subaru jacket with pride

I also like Henning Solberg actually. Great personality and very funny. But like Vivski said, he's not there with the top yet unfortunately.
