Do you like mooses? (moosi? miice? what's the plural of moose?) You could join in the management of my team "Team Moose Power" if you like. I have inside sources telling me it's a good year for mooses! It's a sure thing. You'll have to buy me out of half my ownership of the team so that'll be $30M. Cash only.

I think the one thing that is missing in RFC4 is that there is only one championship, the manufactuers championship. I understand that it isn't possible to have a drivers championship because it would be odd if Loeb was 1st, 2nd and 3rd. But in RFC5 if each member is now a privateer in a team, then I think a list of different privateer teams (eg: Oreca, OMV etc) were listed then members could select which team they would like to join. That way we could have a drivers championship as well as a manufacturers championship. What do you think?

My idea would be an auction type process. Each driver has a guide price, if one person bids that and nobody else puts a bid in he/she gets that driver. But people could challenge that bid, making the strategy even more tough, knowing where to stop, and leaving money left for cars etc.
A downside with this is, that we would have to have a lot of drivers, as we have lots of teams.
We could then have a drivers and manufacturer championship. Maybe we could also use ourselves as a cheap option or have us drive as privateers.
Just a thought though.

Obviously, it's only a base idea, i would expect it to be modified.

I still like the idea of using us and not the real drivers. That way it's even. When you enter you can set your character... Agression 1-10... the more aggressive the faster but more likely to crash. The less agressive the more you drive in the middle of the road and avoid accidents but you're not as fast as a result.
Then you chose a car, tyres and development. The cars, tyres and development can be priced in a way that after all money has been spent, different cars will be faster on different rallies but overall they will have the same probability of winning the championship.
Dunno, it's a work in progress.

I prefer this idea to the auction idea. The auction sounds good but wouldn't be very practical as the whole season would depend on what drivers you are able to get at the auction rather than your overall choices. If there was a selection of privateer teams, members could be grouped together randomly. That way as well as a Drivers Championship, we would also be able to have a Manufacturers Championship.

I wouldn't mind, I'm just not a fan of having drivers for two or three teams etc.
I also like the strategical side from RFC4, i think it adds an extra element.

I also like the strategical side from RFC4, i think it adds an extra element. Yeah, you are right. I think for RFC5 then, we have privateer teams with two drivers per team (drivers are grouped with what team they choose from a selection of a number of places. First come, first served). Then at the begginning of the season drivers choose their setup for the whole season. I also think it would be best if drivers kept their own usernames to avoid confusion. That way everyone knows who is who. How does this sound?

So you still choose a car and tyres and development. That's good.
I love the idea of teaming up and having a Team Cup as well as a Drivers Championship. Good thinking.
Oh, but I think every team should be able to choose the same car. If everyone wants to drive a privateer Subaru, then we set up more Subaru teams. We know this wont be the case, 'cos we all like different cars.

Good point. In that case the teams could be created after the signing up is done. I think if we took the idea of money out of it and replaced it with something like 'attribute points'. Each driver has 30 points to share between the different categories.

I was thinking about maybe progressive development. So instead of getting all your development at the start of the year, you could improve the car as the season went on. So for instance... if you have 1 development option, you would see the benefit of that development from the half-way point onwards.... if you had 2 development options the first would be a third of the way through the season and the other at 2/3rds.
It would make it more complex for the organiser, but I could make a spreadsheet that would do all the calculations automatically.
