I just read on another forum that nasty car (NASCAR) is gaining popularity in Britain and France.
What’s wrong with you people!!!
What enjoyment do you see in a bunch of cars that go round in circles? Do you just like watching the accidents? Those cars don’t resemble anything that’s in production? Very few of those drivers have ever purposely driven slideways, or even know how.
Please don’t go to the dark side.

I completely agree. I dont like F1, but at least they turn right as well as left. Does anyone know how many laps the NASCARs do? It must be really boring for driver and spectators. I know of other motorsports such as Stock Cars, which also just go around in circles. But these at least can go sideways because they run on dirt.

Err..... Nasty Car? Yeah.....I'm not offened but darn...
I don't really watch NASCAR (my sis is a bigger fan). I only watch the first race of the season, the Daytona 500. It is kind of boring to watch them go in circle, but it depends on how much your into it. They usually can run about 200 laps (or more). I don't know if folks watch it just for the crashes here. As for the drivers, its a very demanding race. They say its hard to keep the car steady on the high-bank turns, so NASCAR is just as hard as any other motorsport.
And they do resemble cars that are in production (they are all American cars): Ford Taurus Chevy Monte Carlo Pontiac Grand Prix Dodge Avenger... well, I don't know if the Avenger is in producton. Haven't been watching...
Nascars are not made to go sideways. They are made to draft. That's why they are always bumper2bumper at times. Drafting also causes many accidents.
I can't believe myself that NASCAR is getting poopualr in GB! WeIrD!! Its bad enough my sis told me that they are gonna do international races. I just think its America's unique form of racing and that it should stay in The States.
