I am dying to play this game. I seem to always have problems playing this game so hopefully I will be playing it by next week(fingers crossed). I bought it for my PS2 but no luck there. SO hopefully this will work.
By the way what kind of graphic cards do you guys have in your cmputers that run RBR?
I was thinking about a 256 Ati.

WOW. Well I played RBR with a wheel for the 1st time yesterday and WOW! This is the most addictive and most amazing rally game I have ever played. Questions: -When is a helicopter rescue used? -I am finding Reid's notes difficult. I am used to Grist's note style which works in gears but I can't really make any sense of how to judge corners with Reid's. Any advice?
It took me about 20 times to beat the last rally school challenge but I did it in about 81 secs. Not bad but not great. Keep in mind yesterday was the 1st time I have really played the game. I am amazed how much better I got. Absolutely brilliant game.
Thanks in advance gren

Good to hear you're enjoying the game. I've never seen a helicopter rescue. I'm not sure they put it in the game. Try downloading and installing RealReid notes. They're easier to hear. Basically... FLAT = 6th gear EASY = 5th gear FAST = 4th MEDIUM = 3rd K or 90 = 2nd HAIRPIN = 1st. So it's basically gears anyway. You will improve really quickly. With every stage you will get faster and better. It's all about getting the feel of the car. Install this into your RBR/Plugins folder and play online!! speed.onlinegames.cz/rbr/dl.php?dlid=36Register here... speed.onlinegames.cz/rbr/index.php?setlng=engMy advice is to just drive at your pace. Dont push too hard, just drive at a speed where you're comfortable and the speed will come. When you're ready, let me know and I'll send you some car setups.

Thanks vivski! I am currrently downloading real reid, some skins, and a few other things. Lots of stuff for this game! Yeah if you go to the site or look on the back of the box it has helicopter rescue. Even has a pic...so who knows. Almost hit a deer in Japan. Still also waiting for a bird strike. Otherwise really enjoying it. Played it for 3 hrs last night. A little addicted now that I have the wheel. www.bhmotorsports.com/sims/RBR/movies/RichardBurnsRally%202004-09-05%2013-15-10-28.JPGI think you have to fall off a mountain side or something lol

No doubt. Unless you have an old graphics card and a 21" monitor.

I found it very hard with the PS2 controller.
The PC version is easier because the graphics are better, it runs more smoothly and you will be amazed what a good car setup can do.
Having said that, not one person has made it around the first corner on their first try. It's just a matter of perseverance. I have played the game for about 400 hours and I'm still improving every time I drive. Every single time you drive in this game you get better and take huge chunks out of your PBs.
Dont be mistaken, this is a simulation. If you dont want a challenge, dont get it. But instead of just getting the next WRC or CMR game I'd recommend any driving fan get RBR. You'll never need an RBR2 or RBR3 or RBR7. It's not like CMR in that regard.
My disclaimer is that I'm a driving nut. I want to be a rally driver. Driving is my passion so I adore this game. I now dont need any other driving games. This is the simulation I was looking for for the last 6 years. I was getting every CMR hoping the next one would be the simulation but it never came. Then RBR came along... it will keep me entertained for a long time.

Great review Viv. What hardware are you using to play it? Are you using a joystick or a controller etc?
