Mountain Stages Rally was full of drama. A small field of 16 cars was shortened when Jesse Reader in a Nissan Bluebird DNSed. Quickest round the SuperSpecial was Robert Stoneman in his Lancer Evo 1, one of only drivers using slicks. Second was defending MS winner David Waldon in his WRX. Craig Brooks was third in his WRX while Lee Peterson overshot a turnoff in his WRX. In the third Forest Stage, Damien Oliver in his Holden Gemini, hit a bank at the spectator point. Droppin 3 minutes, the rally got worse when he rolled a few corners up the road. Robert Stoneman was out in SS5 when he had a minor Oil Fire in his Lancer. Oliver came back to thank spectators on SS6 when he gave us some fantastic donuts.
The crowd favourites were: Damien Oliver - Holden Gemini Ben Sheldrick - Datsun 1600 - spun on SSS and was super sideways all the time 3rd Lee Peterson - Subaru Impreza WRX- Fantastic sounding car and sideways regularly 3rd James Willson - Daihatsu Charade - Best sounding car
Still no results as yet but David Waldon was leading at SS7, followed by Brooks and Peterson.
Camera footage will come soon

There looking at it. They don't have any footage of the event so they are rubbing their hands...lol not rubbing their hands exactly but the competitors want the footage. I've already made a video for one guy.

This rally has been round for years. Held up in the mountains with some great gravel and you can travel on the same roads and see the drivers when going from stage to stage. Dad and I scared the hell out of one guy when we came sideways round a corner doing 70km when they were doing 20km!
