bit out of date but.....
McRae Eyes Australian Championship Switch
ARCom Chairman Garry Connelly has revealed for the first time his communications with younger McRae brother Alistair over a switch to the Globalstar Australian Rally Championship. Connelly confirmed at last weekend’s NGK Rally of Melbourne that McRae had contacted him for details about the series and was eager to receive contact information for the leading teams.

Our teams dont have the money. Maybe Ford would be interested in him helping develop the new Group N(P) Ford Focus. But he wouldn't make much money out of it.
The ARC is an excellent competition. We have very talented drivers, just lack the support and manufacturers we need. Mitsubishi has cut down to one car, Subaru run 2 cars and sponsor several of the events, Toyota do the best with what they've got and Ford are looking at entering a 2L turbo (or was that NA) FWD Focus. So we'll see.
It would be great to have Alister in the championship, but he's have to be prepared to get beaten.

Well maybe McRae might field a privateer entry with McRae Motorsport if he really wants to come here. But if he was looking for a factory drive, I think Mitsubishi and Ford would be his best bet. I don't think it's a matter of cost, you don't exactly get a WRC wage in the ARC. I'd like to see him how he compares to our drivers

ooh, a group n focus, has it been launched yet? It should make it's debut in the upcoming Rally Bathurst, not too long. It was supposed be debuted in Queensland, then it was delayed to Melbourne, and now it's definately going to debut in Bathurst. Unfortunately, nobody knows what it looks like or whether it's AWD or 2WD; or turbo-charged or NA...

man that sounds cool
if its a success any chance of it entering the PWRC.
it would be good to see something other than imprezas and lancers in it
thinking about it, mcrae would be a good launch driver for it, with the group n succes hes had

Although I've heard that M-Sport and Team RS have built a Group N Fiesta but whether that's eligible for PWRC is another question

Amen to that. Because of the FiA rules, we dont get to see two of the best drivers in Rally Australia. The Toyota Carollas are cool little cars, very loud too. But Simon Evans is the quickest driver in the championship, so it's sad to see him not able to compete.
But back to the Fords... or should I say Ford. There will only be one and rumour has that it's AWD and naturally aspirated. Not sure how it'll work, I'm hoping it sounds great. Michael Guest will be driving it and he's got no shortage of experience! He drove a Hyundai Accent in the WRC a few years ago. If Ford does enter a 2nd car, they might offer it for V8 Supercar drivers to show them what real driving is all about.
You'd think if McRae really wanted to come to ARC, he'd have no problem getting a drive together. The championship is set up so that it's cheaper for privateers and the privateers can actually be competetive. But since the BRC is going Group N, he might stay up there and have a crack at his home championship.

if the focus is coming to the ARC, i would rather see mcrae in that, instead of my own national championship.
it might sound strange, but new rally cars are always exciting for me
