I have to say the organiser did a good job this year given the massive budget cut-back. For the most part everything was similar to the previous years. The only let-down was the car show, which was little more than a joke. The only real eye-catcher was the Hummer limo (there's like twelve things wrong with those two words), but no Viper or Ferrari. That thing below is like a metaphor for laughing at the face of all that is good and decent and telling nature to go make love to itself.

I know me and Vivski love the entertainment Novikov provies, long may it continue - although someone design him a better paint scheme!
Mikko was bang on with some of his tips it seems, hopefully such pickings will pay off. What an awesome rally though! Punto's certainly crumple well in the hands of Kimi! And Henning's interview after his retirement was hilarious!

I was there all 3 days and yes it was so much fun! Thursday night at shakedown, pirelli star driver comp at Ruuhimäki and then some service park and after that for Killeri SSS and so called SS1 and was even seen on TV,wohoo (red Citroen shirt and was close to my father who had a Sentenced band shirt in black,if someone has a review ) . At friday I were on Jukojärvi SS2 and at Kruununperä 2 (SS7) . For there went to service park and as on thursday had a chat with C.Rautenbach whos fan Im starting to became.. Conrad is just so great as a guy. He may not have the speed but as a person, his probably one of the nicest ones on the WRC circus and trust me,Ive talked to many of the drivers. At saturday our day was kinda bummed.. I were sleeping at the VW Golf Variant and it was raining a lot at night! At the morning still went to the stage of Himos, where I was at the old Vaheri section so pretty close to the start. It was still raining a lot and I was freeking wet when the sun finally started to shine,2nd loop of Himos was already better as I got new clothes from the car. Of course,at the junction I then selected a very good spectating point after a fast junction from the inside and Ive never been in such a pain when Hirvonen came true.. Lets say he given me and some other spectators a really nice breakfast called "flying chocolate" . 2 of the guys, gone to paramedics and one had a broken finger due to that so luckily I wasnt one of them but I got a cut to my elbow and fingers and felt like someone has been kicking me but hey thats rallying. I just finded a better spot and the rest gone well. . Then we continued to Väärinmaja and ended our day. At sunday went to see Hannula . So generally had a great weekend. A bit disappointed for organisation on the stages as these stupid spectating points are taking all fun what rallying kept to be. forbidden spectating on the stages for KM´s and people will be guided to the junctions where then are thousands of people with rally sausages and activities. Easy and relaxing rallying just aint what I like! by the way what comes to Novikov,I can say his co-driver was so pissed off! He was talking with some spectators on the service and what I heard,he said that his so pissed off because all season long, whatever his trying to do, the guy just dont even wanna listen him. He could throw away the notes and Novikov wouldnt see the difference. I wonder how his thousands of fans will feel when they hear that the 3rd time during the rally, them fav has gone off! Enjoying for the rest and yes he brings some colour but maybe not so nice for the others

Sounds like you had an awesome weekend Mikko! ;D I can understand how annoying the controlled spectator points are. I think I've mentioned it before, but many rallies in Australia have quite strict spectator control, and the WRC round has to my knowledge always been the strictest of the lot. I have similar feelings to you Mikko, that I would prefer to be away from the more crowded areas. I would like to be able to listen to the cars, and not have to listen to crazed drunk fans blowing air horns because they can. Also, an interesting observation about Novikov's co-driver Dale Moscatt. Although Dale seems quite annoyed, I am sure Novikov has also been annoyed at Dale during certain times. Interesting that if Dale is so pissed off, he hasn't left the team... see what happens come the end of the year. Good rally for Hirvonen, a rally he definitely needed to win. Awesome result for the local Matti Rantanen, fifth overall! And the combination of a flying Finn and a very good car resulted in Juho Hanninen dominating the PWRC.

Raiko's doing ok, 17th after day one. I hope him taking part in WRC gives the series the much needed publicity. I don't really like the guy, but I do love WRC. He's a tool (no pun intended) for a greater WRC than ever.

Over all, I'd say it was a pretty good rally. Nice to see some fighting between Loeb and Hirvonen. I feel bad that both Solberg brothers were unable to finish the rally, but what can one do about that? I hope that as this season ends, Petter will be able to get an upgrade; he has done well so far with his Xsara, but there is still some fighting left inside of him to keep on pushing for better results with a better car. My tipping was terrible this time, so I hope that next round will be better.

Vivski seems on vacation or something. Is there anyone else who can unlock the Tipping Championship 2009 Results topic?

You just want to see your name on top!
You deserve it.
But I'm not doing to bad for an old fat woman who lives in the US and has no TV coverage of the WRC.

Roo,it seems that what I heard about Dale-Novikov case is coming to the reality by wrc.com . Oh well, it will be interesting to see how this all will turn out now. Will them be focusing for reducing the speed to stay on the road with the new co-driver and can he find the speed then or wont he still listen his co-driver?
We just have to wait and see....
