Just thought that a good idea would be to run an development season alongside this one, either on same or different events where new members who signed too late for RFC4 or members wanting a development team. New rules like only 1600 or group N cars and drivers, and it could be used as a testing ground for new rules.
One could be my theory of only using each driver once. Each driver has a value, and the managers bid for them eg. Loeb £15 million. I bid that for him (not a penny under) and then we have an open auction for the driver (with a deadline) and this encourages strategic managing. If only one manager bids for a driver then they get him, as long as it is at the asking price.

I have a very crazy idea! To make a some kind of drivers' market LIVE! In our chat! See the algorithm:
1. Rallynick makes an appointment for the participants of the RFC in the chat. He also gives us the ammount of money we are able to spend on the WHOLE team. 2. At the appointed time we come to the chat. Rallynick gives us first lot, for example Sebastien Loeb I (a driver mustn't repeat in the game more then 2 times!!) and sets the initial price for him. 3. Then people who want to see Loeb in their team, start bargaining with each other in a bid to get Loeb I. The prices go higher and higher, but the particioants should remember, that they also must safe money for the car, for the tyres, etc. They can say the biggest price for Loeb and get him. But they will be unable to buy a car for their Loeb!!)) 4. The same procedure repeats one more time for Loeb II and then for other drivers 2 times each.
It will be much more interesting as we can feel ourselves the real managers of companies, whos must make decision very quick, taking into account all the factors.

i could do the driver line ups and teams etc. but somebody else would have to do the actual game, i still can't understand how it works

Oups, sorry, chrisfinch... I didn't read your idea about the auction... But it shows how the same we think)). The only difference is that I want a real-time auction)

Obviously it can be tweaked depending on what people think, but i think it could make RFC more interesting if each driver could only be used once to enable a drivers title as well. If there were too many teams and not enough drivers we could always use ourselves or make up names

The only difference is that I want a real-time auction) that sounds good, and i do think the auction makes a strategic side of management. Do you blow all the cash on a superstar and then a rookie, or do you play safe and pick two "middle class" drivers??? that's why the idea works

This idea sounds quite good. However I still think the idea of each member being a driver in a team should come back. I think a live auction would be a hard thing to have happen (youve seen how difficult its been to get people to meetings). Simply because we all live in different time zones and may have different things to be doing.
I think a middle line between complex and simple needs to be used, as you don't want it to complicated so that members won't join, but at the same time you don't want it to be so simple that its boring.

the member drivers could be used as well, perhaps as a cheaper option for anyone struggling. We'll have to see what the general consensus is on all the rules really. My plan is to use it as a testing ground for future RFC rules.
