Driver Paul Dana died after a two-car crash Sunday during the warmup for the season-opening IRL IndyCar Series race at Homestead-Miami Speedway. My condolences to family and friends

Such a shame to see another member of the motorsport fraternity lost. Surely this was the last thing that the IRL needed, but that's far from anyone's minds, my condolences to all that knew him

absolutely shocking. I turned over to the programme and saw the silence, not seeing who it was for, and then when there were four cars missing on the grid, i realised who it was.

The last NASCAR driver killed was Dale Earnhardt in February 2001, the last driver to die in Formula One was Ayrton Senna in May 1994, and the last driver killed in the Champ Car World Series was Greg Moore in 1999

Yet another loss. I guess everyone knows motorsport is a dangerous activity to take part in, but it just doesn't make it any easier when something like this happens. I'm sorry to hear of this sad news, my condolences to Dana's friends and family.
