Just wondering what everybody thought of the interesting "showdown" between Marcus Ambrose and Greg Murphy at Bathurst on the weekend? I was quite happy when they called the spat between the two a racing incident-what did you guys think?

I think you can tell by now that I'm a born and bred Ford nut When I just saw Ambrose in the wall and I just went "Oh f**********k!" Of course Murphy and Ambrose were never good friends to say the least, when I saw Ambrose walking to Murphy, I seriously thought fists were going to blow, I really did. Of course, my view is that Murphy was at fault. Clearly Marcos had taken the position, Murphy clips Ambrose in the rear, flips him up and takes him out. I believe had Ambrose gone over the wall, that Murphy would've got a remprimand Funnily enough, Murphy continued to drive through to take out Ambrose's front bumper. But then you'll get a whole bunch of Murphy supporters defending Murphy also, so you can't win in these arguments as there are fans who are hardcore fanatics of either Ford or Holden. But this isn't the first time Murphy has taken someone out in similar circumstances before, look back at Phillip Island in 2002 when Murphy caused Bargwanna to have that massive flip. Of course Murphy believed he was Mr.Innocent and decided to try and let his fists do the talking. Sometimes he's a great driver but sometimes he's just like a bull in a china shop God I could go on all day about this

I dont watch V8s, so I dont know about the politics or history of it all. But I did see Bathurst and I think Murphy is to blame for the accident. If you look back at the footage, Ambrose gave him a car width to squease through or back out of it, but Murphy didn't turn-in at all, he just plowed straight into the back wheel of Ambrose. So I think Murphy is clearly at fault.
And I think "racing room" is utter BS. You can't expect someone to drive around the dirty part of the track to give you room unless you're along-side. You should not be putting your car in a dangerous position and that's what Murphy did.
I'm told they're both wankers, but I really only care about what drivers do in their cars, not out of them. I was looking forward to seeing how high Ambrose could go 'cos he was red hot towards the end of the race. Oh well, maybe he'll be back for next year's Bathurst and that's the next V8 race I'll watch.

Ambrose won't be in a V8 Supercar next year anyway, he's off to the US to try NASCAR. And there's this whole B-pillar business where if another guy passes you past the B-pillar, then that means that the other guy takes your position and you can't attack. Bah, what happened to the days of if you overtake someone, you have that position, none of this B-pillar and racing room rubbish

That's some very interesting point's you make about it. When it comes to V8's, I'm not a full Holden or Ford fan, I kinda sit on the fence there. But I caught the footage of the incident and figured it was hard to gauge who really was the guilty party. Both seemed like they had grounds to be questioned. However, FTRS, my brother made the same statement that you did, regarding the bargwanna matter, maybe Murph was the one in the wrong. -LITA
