Flights and rental car are booked. Me and a mate are off to Tasmania for the Subaru Safari Rally Tasmania. It's the next round of the ARC and we've got 3 days exploring Tassie + 2 days of spectating at the rally. It's going to be NUTS! In 3 days we're not going to see all of Tasmania, but we'll give it a crack! East Coast, North Coast, West Coast, South Coast and Hobart. We'll drive as many Targa stages as possible to get a feel for what the event's like (I'd love to drive it for real one day), and cruise around checking out the scenery as we go. And then it's down to Geeveston and up into the hills for the rally! Should be fun. WILL BE COLD!!! This is our mission... www.cradlechalet.com.au/tasmanian_road_map.htmAnd a secondary mission... www.targa.org.au/Targa/downloads/leg_maps/2006/2006%20FINAL%20State%20Map.jpg

Yep, for sure. Couldn't say no to $45 plane tickets from Virgin! That's about 18-pound isn't it?

We'll definitely come down and say hi.
How do you feel about the event Glen? Looks like it could be cold and wet again. Will that suit the EVO?

I will be there with Mitch definately. Looks like we are more than likely going on the Sunady, rather than Saturday. It will certainally be an early start, as it takes 3 and a half hours to drive from Launceston to Geeveston alone, but it should be good. I will be wearing every single piece of Ralliart clothing I have to keep warm. With Crocker doing the APRC, there is no No. 1 car for the event. So I might take my car... ;D

The event is very similar to last year, and we came second in both heats there in 2005. I think that our Pirelli tyres do work a little bit better than Michelins do in the wet. The roads are also quite fast and flowing, which Scott seems to always do well on stuff like that. Hopefully we'll get two 1st places this year!
