I think when I first get my rally car, I'll drive it slow so I won't bang it up, then I'll drive faster when I get used to it. Maybe if I drive where there are no trees, I won't damage the car as much.

Maybe if I drive where there are no trees, I won't damage the car as much. Do some track racing until you get used to it first. Dont just go straight out rallying without any experience. I don't have any experience, but I know some who do, and they suggest joining a club and getting some info etc.

I'm gonna see if I can go to rally school, so I'll learn something from them.

Them really need a lot of work or you will hit to troubles with them. That's true, but then again Hillman Imps are like that anyway before they're made into rally cars! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

yeah its good if you have some track experience. It really helps to get you started. Also with a normal low powered car in forest where isnt much traffic you can learn something to rallying example to lines and how to come to jumps. Also with a normal car if you have a friend who knows to co-driving you can already start to practising the notes making and start to learn to driving for them in low speeds.
I am not part of any club yet but my friend asked me to join one. I said not yet but will do it later for sure as then you can join to different kind of club events. I have an historical rally car.
Also my historical rally car needs a hard servicing or happens like I said. ;D

I could practice in a normal car, but i'm afraid I'll get caught by the police! A track would be a good idea.

Yeah, I wouldn't recommend racing round the streets.

You could always try and find a stretch of waste ground or an unused factory or industrial estate near you? (That's a popular place to practice your driving skills around here, since Greenock isn't far from some great bits of countryside you can practice your off roading on, plus the economy in the west of Scotland has been in crisis since the 1970s and is getting steadily worse all the time, so there are more and more deserted factory grounds, dockyards, shipyards and industrial estates all the time, which is sad but it gives you somewhere to practice driving because there are huge stretches of deserted concrete and tarmac.) Although I don't suppose there are as many everywhere, it's just that the west of Scotland is in pretty poor shape industrially so there is always some unused ground to drive on!

I could practice in those places. Maybe there are some empty lots down town. I'm sure there is.... Right now, I got my drivers permit and I'm practicing driving my mom's minivan . I'll ask her to take me to a big, empty lot so I can practice better.
