I don't think that Petter would like to be in a Citro. team... too many team orders. I think that Petter has tasted good victories this year, and he is hungry for wins; thus if he was to be in the Citro Manu. team, his plans would be hindered due to Citro's preference for both Sebs to win. Petter is doing well as a privateer, although more $ from a big sponsor that is not Citro. would be nice. Sordo suffered too much this year because of Citro's preferrence for both Sebastians, Dani must of felt that he was a side-show. Another driver that isn't doing as well is Hirvonen; too much pressure from Ford: he caved in. Also there are some vehicle issues that Ford needs to address, I feel sometimes that the WRC Focus is old (just as the old style Subaru WRX STi became old).

Next year has me excited. These WRCars have reached their peak. No-one would be able to develop a car to beat the C4 or Focus after so many years of development.
This change gives the other manufacturers an opportunity, and some new drivers. The cars will be FAST as well.
I really hope we see guys like Petter, Gronholm and Atkinson next season. Add them to the field, plus some other talent and you'll see a very competitive championship! In stead of a bad day being 4th... a bad day could be 8th!
I hope Dani finds a drive. He's been pretty quick this season and deserves to be there.

Interesting to see Sordo in with Mini. If nothing else, it'll give us a good idea of how Meeke's going. Not sure Mini can compete with Citroen and Ford, but the drivers can compete with each other.
Still no word from Petter, but he seems keen and he's driving for Citroen in IRC Monte Carlo in Jan. So still strong ties with Citroen... DS3 for WRC 2011 maybe?
Atkinson now looks to be doing IRC with P-G Andersson at Proton, so probably not going to see either of them in WRC next year.
I will definitely pay more attention to IRC now though.

Oh, when they said he'd been asked to drive by Olivier Quesnel, I assumed Citroen. But of course Cirtoen & Peugeot are under the same banner. Since there's no Peugeot WRC car, it would still suggest a possibility to see Solberg in a DS3.
The problem for PSA is that they have no old cars to give the privateers. The privateers will have to drive brand new, factory supported cars. That will make Petter a real threat to the Sebs.

I don't expect much though, didn't play a significant role in the IRC 2010 either. Just another one that's got the money.. In S-WRC on the other hand we will have the official Red Bull Skoda WRT with 2 Skoda Fabia S2000. Juho Hänninen and Herman Gassner Jr. will be the drivers. There are also strong rumours that BP will not continue sponsoring the Ford WRT

It is very funny how M. Wilson said that the new Ford "felt more natural" for him. I mean, why is he surprised? It is slower than the previous car, so it means that he can handle this one better... And I guess that his sponsors are getting the message that he is not a highly competitive driver, he was able to secure funds, at the last moment, for only the 1st rally. Petter S. Has a different problem though, thus his situation can be used to compare with M. Wilson. It will be hard for Petter to find a sponsor for 2012, that is if he is to continue to be involved in the WRC. To be a privateer in an event as the WRC is an extremely difficult thing to do, so my hat off to Petter for been able to obtain the necessary sponsorship for the full 2011 season; it must be hard to be in his shoes, he has much more on the line than other drivers. I am a little bit disappointed with Proton, they have not committed themselves to the WRC, they seem to have settled with staying in IRC. Attko will be missed, again.

Well this random night I am making a comeback! 2011 I feel is make or break for the WRC. Many manufacturers have declared they are interested with VW, Renault and Toyota the big ones (Proton currently does not rate a mention for me). Hopefully Mini go ok to encourage these new guys. Anyone watch Monte per chance? That was by far the best rallying I've seen in ages!

I have the highlights from the Monte, but haven't watched it yet. I'm looking forward to seeing them do Col de Turini, 'cos I drove it last year in a hire car. It was a bit disappointing to see Atko out so early with a car gremlin. He could have put himself back on the world stage.

Yes 1 minute interval is way too small to P1 drivers. It just wont work. Also how to they know in what rallyes is it dusty and on what isnt?? Also was the rally, even like Rally Finland if you catch 40 second of the car ahead of yours, it turns into nightmare already even when the guy ahead would still have a 20 sec. gap. Also we can even add for that a huge safety risk as there are always people who tries out of the stages. I guess its also one of the ideas on this to help with traffic jams+ to make people to stay in the place them are. Not rally friendly but easy to control. Also as a 3rd point why I see this as bad is the current ranking based system. Lets say guy like P.Solberg will retire at the first event and will start behind 1 point scorer Al Qassimi on the 2nd rally and catches him at each stage. No doubt on that one!! Same with wildcard entries so top privateers. As people know them are seeded always behind the regular WRC drivers. Also as Viv said, PCWRC and SWRC+ also juniors has been complaining a lot for 1 minute interval. It just don´t work. Also as was said the road gets blocked easily and also stages will be cancelled. Actually it happens pretty often that the stage is on cut, atleast a while in PCWRC or JWRC. Becky is a female dog
