Well we could have some fun next year! The S2000 cup, with the new Fiesta and many drivers on the return! So far I've heard: - Galli and P Solberg in a team
- Gronholm (6 events) and P Solberg in a team
- Ken Block and Chris Atkinson in a Monster Energy WRT (limited schedule in 2010 before a full 2011 season)
- Rossi competing on Rally Mexico
- Mads Ostberg competeing
on all 13 2010 rounds (that's going to be expensive!)
- MINI is expected to annouce plans to compete from 2011 onwards with Prodrive in April
- VW Scirocco to form a VW team from 2012 after the 2010 Dakar marks the end of VW's Rally Raid and switches budget to the WRC.
And in non-WRC news, Subaru will become the eighth manufacturer to register for the IRC next season. Basser Al-Attiyah should be entering the Rally of Scotland as a test... Some of that news from Motorsport News and other various source I can't remember! So post your rumours and discuss below! So far confirmed we have: Citroen Total World Rally Team:Sebastien Loeb/Daniel Elena Dani Sordo/Marc Marti BP Ford Abu Dhabi World Rally TeamMikko Hirvonen/Jarmo Lehtinen Jari-Matti Latvala/Miikka Anttila Khalid Al Qassimi/Michael Orr Also: "France’s round of the World Rally Championship will be based in Sebastien Loeb’s home region of Alsace from next year. The decision to move away from the Tour de Corse came via a unanimous vote from the country’s governing body of motorsport, the FFSA, taken in Paris earlier this week. France’s new WRC round will be Rallye Alsace-Vosges - formerly a French Rally Championship round which ran in May. The event, which is based near Strasbourg, will shift to an October date for next season. CEO of the World Rally Championship global promoter International Sportsworld Communicators Simon Long welcomed the move to Alsace saying: “While we recognise the heritage in Corsica, we need to move forward in this sport and moving forward means moving to the mainland where the mainstay of French rally fans - and particularly Sebastien Loeb fans - are living. We welcome this move and agree with the FFSA’s decision.”" wrc.com: World Rally Championship - News - France votes for Alsace Talk about giving Loeb a head start! Don't ask me to pronounce the rallies new name - but shock of the off-season so far for me!

You practically pronounce it as "ahlzas - voguè".
It a shame to see another classic rally disappear for sure.. But change can also be good.
I'm really looking forward to hearing from teams whether or not they will compete in next year's WRC or WRC Cup for S2000.

I really can't understand why the Tour de Corse has been dropped for this one.... It's good for France Championship but for WRC,even though the roads are nice, i don't find them interresting enough. It would have been better to choose the Rallye du Limousin instead, i think. And the best would have been to keep the WRC in corsica, but try to explain this to the FFSA ...

- Galli and P Solberg in a team
I like.
- Ken Block and Chris Atkinson in a Monster Energy WRT
I like lots.
- MINI is expected to annouce plans to compete from 2011 onwards with Prodrive in April
I like.
- VW Scirocco to form a VW team from 2012
I like as well.
- Subaru to become the eighth manufacturer to register for the IRC next season.
That's good, about time.
- Rally France to move away from Corsica
Not so good. I suppose Corsica has been losing its appeal since some of the more awesome stages along the coast were dropped from the route. Maybe Loeb want's to finish his WRC career by winning his final world championship on his home rally...

Galli and P Solberg in a teamThis sounds as a very interesting team, but so do these: Petter and Orgier. Petter and Gronholm. My main concern is what is going to happen to the PSWRT? Will it be considered as a primary or secondary Citroen Junior Team. Or will it remain independant but with Citroen support/sponsor. Petter did an excellent job this year. Started slow due to his car, but when he got into the C4... wow it seemed as he had been rejuvinated. Speed was back, giving headaches to the Fords and to Sordo. I really really hope that he dicides to stay in the C4, I think he can do much better. Ken Block and Chris Atkinson in a Monster Energy WRT I like to see Chris back into action, but I'm afraid that it is in the wrong car . I feel ashamed to say this, because I love Subaru. The new Impreza needs to be redefined and modified; I still think that the car is not balanced properly and it lacks power. When Petter and Chris were using them last year they were a bit faster than their previous model, but still slower than the C4 and the Fords. I think the car did not delivered on all the promises, or maybe it was because Prodrive wasn't deliverying since their interests shifted more towards F1 (although, it seems like it actually didn't make it into the F1 either). At any rate, I think that Prodrive had something to do regarding the exit of Subaru. There have been several reports regarding disagreements between Subadu and Prodrive regarding several issues, including (believe it or not) the colour schem that Prodrive chose. MINI is expected to annouce plans to compete from 2011 onwards with Prodrive in AprilI just don't like Prodrive. They seem a bit too wishy-washy for me. ::mad:: A VW team for 2012Nice to hear of other manufactures interested in WRC, I just find it hard to a bit hard to swallow that they aren't aiming for the 2011 season. They could use the some of the 2010 season to do tests so in 2011 they can come out with flying colours. 2012 seems too far away and almost non-commital. Subaru to become the eighth manufacturer to register for the IRC next season.About time, indeed. I think that the Impreza as it is will do well in the IRC. Rally France to move to the mainland.A change in sceanary is good, but going from the fun mixed roads to pure tarmac is disappointing. I'm assuming that the Alsace-Vosges is all tarmac. Oh well, I guess I should better leave for now, otherwise my boss will find some mindless job for me to do in the lab. just to keep me away from the computer ;D Flip

Sadly mine and Vivski's 2009 entertainer won't be back in 2010. "Novikov rules out 2010 return Russian driver Evgeny Novikov will take an enforced sabbatical from the World Rally Championship in 2010 because of the same financial difficulties that forced an early exit from his 2009 programme. Novikov, 19, joined the Citroen Junior team this year for a nine-round campaign, his first at the wheel of a World Rally Car. But the youngster canned his programme shortly before his final planned event, the Rally of Great Britain. His exit marked the end of an erratic season, which mixed the highs of stage wins and a fifth place on the Rally d'Italia Sardegna with the lows of numerous driver-related accidents. After crashing out more than half of the rallies he started, Novikov tore into his rally budget and eventually ran out of funds. "Due to lack of funding in 2010 and having financial difficulties now, it was decided not to go to start the Rally of Great Britain. For the same reasons, I have to take a break and will not act next year," Novikov wrote on his website "Thanks to all fans who have followed my actions and helped us throughout this time," he added." News is a bit old as I'm a few weeks behind on my Motorsport News but Galli looks set to return for ten rounds next season before a full campaign in 2011. He is set to compete in a Citroen C4, the three events he will miss will be the three flyaway events.
The Italian also completed the reece for the Rally of Great Britain.

yup,Vatanen started once the idea for getting the Safari back to the WRC and others were enthuastic to the idea too if Im right. Also the feedback of the Safari Rally at IRC has been satisfying enough so it would probably run as a shortened version even for the days when it was lastly running. Im a bit against when Im thinking Safari Rally as an event as unfortunately it just couldnt be what it was example at 2002 but atleast WRC have a driver who surely will gain interest there (C.Rautenbach) .
On Galli the rumours earlier on for this year were that Galli would have driven the full year with P.Solberg at Pirelli Team Citroen but I think we can forget those now. In the end Solberg has been looking a 2nd driver to team who is just capable of driving there so Galli would suit to the plans on that term. We will see then.
