I don't know about Australia, but Citroen is more of a 'luxury' or expensive European brand here. Yeah that's right. They just opened a Citroen dealership here in my home town a couple of weeks ago. They certainly haven't been trading in Australia as long as what Peugeot have. Anyway, I bet the Rally Oz organisers are fuming. I don't know what they're on about with that press release, it makes no sense to me. You'll need a WRC car to get on the podium, and there is little incentive for a local Aussie bloke to bring a WRC car over here due to cost and the fact they can't drive it anywhere but in Rally Oz. The PWRC class however should be very competitive.

Citroen as a luxury brand!?! They've pulled the wool over your eyes! There so cheap over here, they literally give you £2000 cashback so you'll buy the cars!

The reason why they "appear" to be a luxury brand is becuase they cost more than the locally built cars. Citroen being a small importer has to make a profit from the import taxes I suppose. Now. Although FHI has ordered SWRT to quit the WRC, Prodrive are still in a position to serve their customers. One of their customers is Adapta. So in regards to Petter, he has three options at this point. 1. Join Mads Ostberg at Adapta and drive Subaru, 2. Quit WRC, pursue other interests, 3. Join up with Henning. Now that last option might sound a bit odd, but with Henning out of a drive at Ford, he has been in talks with Bozian Racing. Now until recently, Bozian only had Peugeot WRC cars, i.e. the 307. Probably not the best car to go rallying with at the highest level. However, Mitch has told me that Bozian have recently acquired two Citroen C4's...

NZ is all about the Imprezas, the Lancers and the other Jap brands - that's what we get at good prices. And the whole Commodore/Falcon - Holden/Ford debate is huge.

This is so sad. I was away for 3 days, medical reasons, and when I come back I feel as if someone swiped the carpet from under my feet. Everything is rocky and yucky. I am speechless and sad.

This Belgian news article says that PG Andersson has been contacted by British firm MEM to drive a Proton Satria S2000 on the IRC Monte Carlo rally in 2009. PG was said to be interested in the offer to discover the cars that are the base for the next generation of WRC cars.

This just gets my goat! He has the guts to go and save Honda F1 but not try to salvage any deals for the WRC division of Prodrive. So far I have not heard a word fom David Richards and how bad he feels over the whole situation, nor any comments regarding Solberg and Atkinson's situation. The only thing I can find him saying is that he is sad about -Subaru- withdrawl, and that SWRT only represents 20% of Prodrive's business. Argh!!!!! Sorry, just trying to make sence out of something that is annoying me. P.S. Read this but mainly the last 3 paragraphs are interesting.

Flip, it is important to remember it was not Prodrive's decision to end SWRT's involvement with the WRC. It was Subaru in Japan, Fuji Heavy Industries. Subaru, being a premium brand, will no doubt struggle in the current financial climate so, in an economic sense, it was the right decision. For Subaru, they can't see any point spending more and more money on WRC, when the regs are going to change soon, and they have not been competitive for over three years. I'm a bit annoyed that Richards is looking at a rescue package for the Honda F1 team as well, but it appears that the Middle-Eastern organisation wants to be involved in F1, not WRC. And given the current state of the WRC, it doesn't surprise me.
