Haha! And he was leading after the first stage! That goes to show one of two things: o the lack of depth in the ARC, and/or o the pure class of Wilks as a driver Great effort, in a car with FWD and a couple of horsepower down on appear to be that under-powered. Next year should be interesting if the proposed 2WD Showroom Cup goes ahead. Then it will be Honda Civic Type R vs Mazda 3 MPS. A bad event for Toyota for once, but a good year for Neal Bates and Coral Taylor, a long time between drinks. However it could be argued that they have been lucky, as mechanical problems have dogged Simon Evans all year, including this event. A good event for Eli Evans. Didn't hear a thing about it over the weekend, didn't even know it was on!

Apparently he did so well due to there being really smooth gravel, which not only was swept when he got to it, but also the fact that it was not that loose.
No Windus, Guest drove uninspiringly, I reckon hes not too good after his crash in south australia. I dont reckon LWR will keep him on another year unless he can bring some good sponsorship in again. The definite shining light was Michael South. Only competing in the NSW State Series, but I have heard from the locals that his splits were right up there with the Evan's and Michael reckons he wasn't pushing. Like to see him push!!!
