Anyone out there interested in entering an RFC 2008 - maybe 4 or 5 signature rounds (including Oz and GB of course) - teams of 2 - kicking off soon... to run around WRC GB and in the off season ...

Of course if someone just puts that one up. I at one point succested this in old boards but wouldnt it be rather cool if we could do an RFC career game . We would start from somewhere of the end of 70´s and go on year by year. 3-4 rounds of a year and at championship order of last season you can pick your car to next season of the teams of next year. Then when we reach the 2008 what could come surprisingly quickly as you can kinda run a 1 season in 2 weeks,we could then move to 2009 straight up at some point. Just a succestion ofcourse but it would be different Im up to anything.. miss the old RFC already

Okay, we've got a few people interested which is good. Since I have now finished Uni, and I have nothing better to do really, I am willing to run the RFC series. Len has just about perfected the Excel spreadsheet number generator, which will give more realistic stage times and random events such as retirements. I've just counted all the days up until Jan 31, which is Monte Carlo, opps I mean Rally Ireland. There are four, fortnightly blocks between now and the first WRC event of 2009. This could allow something along the lines of Mixa's idea, where we effectively have one full rally season in two weeks. The rally season could be anything from the 1970's where the Stratos and Escorts ruled, to Group B, to the modern era, and anything in between and beyond. So if we were to fit four RFC's in before Rally Ireland next year, we'd better get cracking! ;D Nov 11 - Nov 16Discussion, decide championships and plan of attack Nov 17- Nov 23Sort out teams for RFC 1-2. Nov 24 - Dec 7RFC 1: (Classics, Group B) Dec 8 - Dec 21RFC2: (Group B, proposed Group S) Dec 22 - Dec 28Christmas Break, and sorting teams for RFC 3-4. Dec 29 - Jan 11RFC3: (Early Group A, Early WRC era) Jan 12 - Jan 25RFC4: (Later WRC, IRC S2000) Jan 26 - Jan 29Finalise Teams for RFC 2009 Jan 30 - Feb 1WRC Rally Ireland Here are some of the cars that could be included in the various categories. Classic 1970's era. Including cars such as: Ford Escort RS1800 Lancia Stratos Fiat 131 Arbarth Toyota Celica 2000GT Talbot Sunbeam Renault Alpine etc. Group B 1980's supercar era Audi Quattro S1 Lancia 037, and S4 MG Metro 6R4 Ford RS200 Peugeot 205 Group S The regs that were set to replace Group B until the fateful 1986 season. Lancia Delta ECV Ford RS200 Evo Toyota MR2 Mitsubishi Starion Audi ..... Peugeot 205 Early Group ALancia Delta Integrale Toyota Celica Ford Escort Cosworth Mazda 323 GTR Subaru Legacy Mitsubishi Galant VR4 IRC Super2000 Current S2000 and GrpN competitors. Peugeot 207 VW Polo Proton Satria Fiat Arbarth Subaru Impreza Mitsubishi Evo X Toyota Corolla Ford Fiesta Skoda Fabia Opel Corsa MG S2000 Sport So, now I've posted all these ideas and suggestions, it's back to you guys. What types of RFC would members like to participate in? How many would be willing to enter? Any other suggestions, queries?

Some ideas for me to classics.. nice to see that my idea is kinda taken up. . The mini format is good so just a few rallyes out for a year. Gives anyone a change to shine too! RFC1: Classic 1970's era. -yeah great idea! As championship was quite imdependent those days even when there were teams what about if you can bring out any of those cars by yourself or join somebody elses team? Example it wouldnt be too cool by my mind if Ford factory team would have 4 drivers as them did had those days. Group B 1980's supercar era! I succest the 1985 season what we used kinda before it stopped aswell. At 1985 happened all the great things and there were so many manufacturers. I succest the teams in this one and yeah we can leave some out some of the teams if people doesnt appear to be intrested. I say that Renault should be in but Porsche and Nissan example would be let out, maybe even Toyota. Offcourse this can be done with pick yourself format too but I dont know is it so cool then. In the other hand I would leave group S out but of course if people wants to see that, why not! I just think we dont have too much information about it. I know some cars what arent even ont that list. Instead of group S I would put early group A and late group A together. Both were important times when WRC was growing up. For early group A I would use a mix of 1987 and 1988 and as a late group A I would use a mix of 1992-1994 . Early WRC probably 1997(first year of WRC cars including some gr.A cars) and by taking off that group S we could get a season for mid WRC too like 2001 example. So my calendar could go: Nov 11 - Nov 16 Discussion, decide championships and plan of attack Nov 17- Nov 23 Sort out teams for RFC 1-2. Nov 24 - Dec 7 RFC 1: (Classics, Group B) Dec 8 - Dec 21 RFC2: (Early group A,late group A) Dec 22 - Dec 28 Christmas Break, and sorting teams for RFC 3-4. Dec 29 - Jan 11 RFC3: (Early WRC, mid WRC era) Jan 12 - Jan 25 RFC4: (Later WRC, IRC S2000) Jan 26 - Jan 29 Finalise Teams for RFC 2009 Jan 30 - Feb 1

Roo, if you could run it that'd be great! I know from your previous virtual racing chapionships it'd be well run with loads of detail! I'm not really fussed what format it takes as long as it's run! Will be good to have some regular updates on the forum again

Hey Roo, great to see another RFC on the agenda. I think the best format is one you're comfortable with which wont put you under too much pressure. It's coming into holiday season after all.

I think the best format is one you're comfortable with which wont put you under too much pressure. It's coming into holiday season after all. Yes exactly. Although each RFC championship is within a fourteen day slot, having 14 rounds would be "a wee bit" time consuming. So I'm looking at each RFC being around 7-9 rounds. At the moment, I think the first two RFC rounds are confirmed, unless there are any other suggestions. RFC1 will be Classics and RFC2 will be Group B. I have released a list of cars available for the Classic RFC. Feel free to sign up now, and feel free to suggest other cars also. I have made a separate RFC Classics thread here for signing up, so that this thread is for discussing the RFC competitions. rallystuff.proboards44.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=rfc&thread=1563RFC1 Classics 1970's era:Fiat 131 Abarth Ford Escort RS1800 Lancia Stratos Talbot Sunbeam Lotus Vauxhall Chevette Opel Ascona 400 Datsun 160J Toyota Celica 2000GT

Just looked at the entry list of the GroupB game, and got an interesting idea (I hope it's interesting ). What about making a ROC Fantasy Championship, the Cup of Nations in particular? Just look what we have now: Team Australia 1 (Mitch and Vivski) Team Australia 2 (Roo and Len) Team England 1 Autosport (Curt and Chris) Team England 2 F1 Racing (Will and Nick) Team Belgium (Luigi and Bart) Team Scandinavia (Mixa and me) Team Commonwealth (Sarah and JJ) Team USA (Mary and Travis Pastrana ) Well, Australia and England will have more chances mathematically, but it's clear they can never beat scnadinavians ;D

That's not a bad idea, just as long Roo doesn't mind the extra work such an RFC would give him! I don't think the chances for the English and Australians would be any different to a normal RFC? Because we have the same amount of people doing it anyway. Plus it's usually only one at a time (if you get me). Although if I was to be in a Team England sponsored by a publication, I'd have to change the publication sponsor for my team, cannot stand either publication used

If someone does the Nations cup,I can do the Race of champions instead of the RFC Dakar this year as I simply doesnt have time for Dakar. I could easily do the race of champions but not the nations cup. When I saw the post I actually already done the draw for both
