The Renault is so much fun! You have to be awake or it will bite your head off, but I much prefer it to the bigger cars in this championship. We are getting into the swing of this championship quickly and I'm sure we'll be on the pace in not too long.
Sweden will be great and Pikes Peake is one we're looking forward to at Renault.

Well the MG team had really just a test session here - we are very pleased with the progress that we have made during the winter break.
Overall the event started very well for the team with James getting fastest time i believe on the first stage however on that stage the conditions did suit the MG and our similar driving styles. With overnight snow and tighter stages on the following days we struggle immensly to lay down power and lost large amounts of time

"Monte Carlo Report" R83- "Well not the best rally for Lada but that was to be expected. The Samara is a good car but is too bulky for the twisty roads of Monte Carlo. This was considered more testing than anything else as we are confident for the snow and gravel rallies. Also it was frustrating that Igor retired as I know he was pushing very hard. We are all looking foward to Sweden as I can promise a much better performance from both cars!"

**Breaking News** RallyMagazine caught some pictures of Lada's new front and rear spoilers. The rear spoilers are a lot bigger and look to have had some inspiration from the Audi. The front is reminiscent of the one seen on the 205. It will be interesting to see if the Lada team's performance changes with the next rallies. Our camera men were asked to leave before they could get more pictures.

Rally Magazine Citroen to RFC??French car giant Citroen were recently seen testing what looks to be a Group B car. The Citroen BX was being put through its paces on somewhat melted Swedish roads. When asked about the testing, the motor sports director stated that "Citroen is looking into the RFC. They(Citroen) first want to get a look at how the car drives and handles. This is only the preliminary testing phase, so I wouldn't get too excited just yet." Still great to know that their are more Manufactures that are interested in the rally scene.

Nick McRae Monte Carlo Report:
After having to rush back home to England quickly after the end of the rally, no comments were quoted from Nick. But after sorting out the matter he was able to make some comments. "It was a really good start to the season for me as I have never liked the look of the rally on the TV, and doing the event in real life is even worse! Luckily we managed to keep the car on the road even though spectators tried their best with snow on the top of the Col. A fifth place and 4 points is a solid start hopefully I can build on that and make a good showing on the Swedish - even though it's my first apperance on Snow, the grip levels will be more predictable than Monte!"

*DAY 1* Rally Sweden began as expected; with a huge snowfall. The stages were covered awaiting the arrival of the 500hp rally cars! Monte Carlo winner Mixa was 1st out on the stage setting a disappointing 6.14. Curt unfortunately wasn't able to better that time and was 4 seconds slower than his Finnish rival. It was up to Igor who set the fastest time in his revised Lada. A great start for the Russian team. CFinch had a rally to forget though, as he stalled on the start line. After many attempts he was unable to start his 037. Mechanics spent what seemed to be an eternity to get it going but to no avail; CFinch had to retire. *DAY 2* Day 2 was going to be one to forget for the Ford team as snow clogged up FTRS's RS200; causing the engine to overheat. Retirement #2 for the rally. Curt showed he wasn't phased by his Day 1 performance and set the fastest time. The Toyota team took everyone by surprise by ending the day in a 1-2 position. No one would have thought that Matt and Danii would have been fighting for P1. Husain hit back at Curt and tied his best time; the Porsche on a definite charge. At the end of the day an Audi, 2 Toyota's and a MG held the top 4 positions. *DAY 3* Butterflies must have been in the Toyota driver's stomachs as the final day approached. What a feat for the team to accomplish a 1-2 finish. Husain was unstoppable though setting another fastest time which bumped him up to 7th. A great feat considering his Day 1 performance. The MG team had a lot to be happy about as their drivers finished 5th and 4th. Pre-Season favorites Peugeot will need to go back to the drawing board if they have any hope this season. 11th and 15th is all the team could manage. At the end of the day Toyota did it. Danii and Mitch got 1st and 2nd respectively. Nicole didn't disappoint though, bringing her Audi home in 3rd place. Don't miss Round 3: USA Pikes Peak July 29th 2006

"Damn and blast that engine of mine. Unfortunately the back hit a snowbank and snow went into the engine, causing the engine to go absolutely ballistic. The sound was like coins inside a blender. Our pace was pretty good though, hopefully Pikes Peak will be better"

Just couldn't get into a any kind of rhythm and only succeeded in bogging the rear of the car in a snow bank; while it was easy retrieved the time lost didn't help my progress any. Thankfully we finished and got extra testing miles; unfortunate our team-mate retired

Here at MG we are very happy with the result of both Matt & James. After our dissapointment in round 1 of the championship this is a real boost for the team and we now know that we can set similar times to the faster teams.
With some minor modifications planned for the next event we hope to get at least one of the cars on the podium

Well I'm disappointed to be out so early, the mechanics did a great job trying to fix the car, just a shame we couldn't fix it.
Congratulations danii and Mitch a good result for you two.
I'm looking forward to Pikes Peak, as well as the rally I might buy myself a Sony Walkman tape cassette and a mobile phone. Yes, they are bulky, but I'll look flash.
