Okay, why is it that the two drivers I follow always have problems?
- Mark Webber - Kimi Raikonen
I cheer for them both, but whenever they look like doing really well their car explodes into flames. I really hate the way the sun shines out of Alonso's arse this year. Just once I want to see Kimi have a clean race.
I am very pissed off about Monaco. Webber looked good for the win but he way royally arsed by the officials who didn't put out the blue flags so he got caught in the backmarkers for several laps. Then his engine exploded. He was poised for the win until everything went to poo.
Also, classic Kimi Raikonen... his car is on fire, he stops to let everyone past and calmly rolls the car into a safe spot while the car burns behind him. Then he hops out, walks through the tunnel and strolls not to the pits but down to his boat where he sits down and drinks with his mates from Finland.

As much as I dislike Alonso I am glad he won seeing as Shumacher went back to his old ways during qualifying. I am disgusted with Michael Schumacher. His pace today showed that he could have won even he had gotten P3. A waste of a race and he has basically handed alonso the title. Not good.....

I didn't see the race, but heard the fuss over Schuey and couldn't believe the qualifying situation! What's going on in the mind of Michael? I dislike Alonso too, but he is a great driver and he believes in himself 130 percent! Ie..he was always gonna go places in F1, so him taking out the Monaco Grand Prix (under these circumstances) was no surprise. Kimi-I agree with you Viv-he hasn't had too many clean races so far; its disappointing to see him constantly having to battle these demons. He's got the speed and the talent but seemingly, doesn't have the luck right now. Webber-I'm going to leave my personal opinion out of this one, most of you know my thoughts on him from a previous thread-he didn't have much luck in Monaco, too bad is all I'll say.

Monaco was a decent race, although I thought it got a bit boring. Schumacher was always going to be quick although Massa was disappointing.
Webber and Raikkonen looking good, just wrong place, wrong time, bad luck to them, and Coulthard looked good.

was a really good race dispite the usual outcome
really enjoyed the shots of the 7 car traffic jam for most of the race and really it is a shame about both Kimi & Mark as were having a good race until the cars gave up
looking forward to watching the GP2 race from Monaco was apparently accident packed

The GP2 was good, I won't spoil it by saying Lewis Hamilton won (Highlight for answer).
The Porsche Super Cup was also good, Colin McRae came 10th.

There're very good parallels someone mentioned on one forum:
Alonso - SLoeb: very fast, reliable and like robots... Schumacher - Gronholm - old fast and dangerous warrior who can battle from the bottom to the podium if smth bad happens. Raikkonen - Solberg - always in troubles, either by mistakes or mechanical problems...

Ooh I didn't know Colin McRae was competing in the Porsches, good on him. Anyway, it would have been a great race had Webber won or at least finished the race That was probably one of the best races he's ever had, only 2nd to his debut in Australia 2002. Such a shame, he could have won but these things happen. I have a feeling a win is coming soon if Alonso gets out of the way Star of the Race: Webber - enough said; M Schumacher - bad sportsmanship on quali, but redeemed himself by proving why he is a 7 time champion Reject of the Race: Button - not really his fault but he was nowhere

Button earmarked it as a race where he was strong, but that didn't really prove to be the case.
Webber and Raikkonen were unlucky but it wasn't all bad luck. They followed behind Alonso in his dirty air for too long and paid the price. No air into the cooling system = very hot car. You dont have much choice in Monaco. It was one of the best races of the season just from the sheer pace of it. They were going flat out around the pitstops, but then when Raikkonen and Webber retired it ended the race.
Hopefully there will be some more good races soon.

There's currently a strong rumour that Williams have already signed a deal with Toyota for next year and Nico Rosberg may end up at Toyota as part of a trade off; and if so, I think Alex Wurz will get the gig at Williams if that is the case. However Williams will run both Monaco spec engines for Webber and Rosberg as only the exhaust needed replacing, thankfully the engine didn't fail as such so that's a good sign. Also Honda are downplaying their chances for a British GP win, aero is currently their weakpoint

What are Kimi's and Webber's problems? Their engines obviuosly.
Mercedes engines, I think, are more powerful than they are durable. With the regs these days and the two race engine rule, I think you have to find a compromise.
Cosworth just don't have the budget to keep up with the superior engines of Ferrari, Renault Honda etc. etc.
Combine engine wear and the way Kimi and Webber were both pushing their cars around Monaco- you're guaranteed the engine will go BOOM!

I love the sound of the Mercedes engine this year, especially hearing it in person, and they're also proving a hell of a lot more reliable than last year. Mercedes don't really have a high horsepower engine, if anything they've sacrificed a bit of speed for reliability. What happened in Monaco was just dumb luck if anything.
I still believe that Cosworth still have one of the best engines on the grid, also hearing it myself you could tell it sounded better than some of the others. Ferrari's engine I'd say is fair seeing as Red Bull haven't been jumping up and down every round. The Renault would be on par with the Cosworth for speed. However Honda are complaining that they are a bit down on power, certainly hearing it myself, it was not my favourite sounding engine, hated it.
I'm just hoping Webber can repeat his Monaco performance, even if Monaco tends to level out the field a bit more than the other circuits

Canadian GP looks boring, Alonso dominance continues it seems. I'm better off sleeping than waking up at 2am to watch the race

Another uninteresting race, nothing really of note to happen, except Ralf being slow all race, then making Villeneuve hit the wall in front of his own fans.

Well the US GP has just finished and well it started off a great race (well first 2 corners) then it slowly got boring once again
Star of the race: Heidfield was certainly entertaining Reject: Montoya
