What is Sandown 500? Ive never heard of it before. From what I can see of the other cars in the first picture it seems like a touring car race.
That crash seems like it was quite a big one. The car has come over the barrier!

Sandown 500 is one of two large touring car (V8 Supercar) events in Australia, the other big one is the Sandown 1000 (which takes place next month). Sandown 500 is like the Indy 500 somewhat. It takes place at the Sandown International Circuit and drivers clock up 500kms over just one race. It was pouring down with rain today but not bad action for $40

Wow, big crash. Never been to a V8 Supercar event. Track racing doesn't really excite me.

crikey, there was a massive crash in the indy cars sunday night, the peak antifreeze 300 or something.
ryan briscoe drove over alex barron and into the wall with the tail against the floor, and facing upwards if you see what i mean. then the car broke into 3 pieces and briscoe was took to hospital

IRL is certainly become far too fast. We need only to look at Briscoe's crash and Sam Hornish Jnr's crash at Indy to see that a fatality is only around the corner .Greg Moore and Alex Zanardi are also a case studies to see how fast these things are, and the consequences that follow. IRL is already going down the toilet to begin with, last thing it needs is all these accidents

It's hard to avoid big crashes when you drive so hard on street circuits where the walls are so close. I dont see the point of roundy-roundies, just a waste of fuel and danger to life. But someone somewhere likes it.
Ryan Briscoe is a gun though. I hope he makes it to F1.

Ryan Briscoe is a gun though. I hope he makes it to F1. he's in a bad car this year though, ganassi racing, he needs a move to one of the bigger IRL teams to make it big. having said that he was fast on the street and road courses this year

IRL is a flop anyway, long live Champ Car I say... champ car over IRL, poor you lol, I'm not really into either categories to be honest, but I still think Champ Car is better, at least it's future is secure unlike IRL

i think you might have got that the wrong way round. as far as i know IRL is doing much better at the minute, champ cars has gone through a re-branding recently. i enjoy both series, but feel champ cars needs more overtaking

Bah, both series are good in their own right
