ive had none.. Thats a shame. You should go to a WRC event this year. Its not the same as watching it on TV. There is a completly different atomsphere. Curt

I've only been to the Rally of the Midlands in Nuneaton. Plenty of ex-WRC cars there and a parade of the legendary Group B cars before the start.

I've only been to the Rally of the Midlands in Nuneaton. Plenty of ex-WRC cars there and a parade of the legendary Group B cars before the start. I went to that. Are you talking about the one at the industrial estate at RS Components? Thats not a very good representation of a WRC event though. You should go to a WRC rally. The atomsphere is superb. Example: In 2004 I went to WRC Wales Rally GB with my dad on the Sunday. We set off at about 4am and got to Wales at about 7am. Once there we had to find the stage, then climb a hill for about 15mins to get onto the track. Then after travelling for miles over a long period of time, the sound of distant backfire can be heard. The as it increases so does the whistles of the Marshalls. Then, as if out of know where the 1st car comes through. There is a huge uproar and the car passes at high speeds goin sideways no more than 2 metres away. Once the action is over you move on to the next stage. Its a brilliant experience. I strongly recommend anyone who has a small interest in rally in going to it this September. My first experience of rallying was the 1998 Network Q Rally. This was the first time I had ever even heard of rallying . Colin McRae came round the bend at top speed in his Works Subaru Impreza 555. Since then ive been hooked ;D Thanks for reading, Curt

Hoping to get my Imp rallying soon when it's finished, but at the moment I'm only spectating. The best one I was at was the McRae Forest Stages a couple of years back in Perthsire (scotland), some modern stuff including ex works Imprezas and also a lot of non works Scoobs, Evos, and odd other moderns, but the real highlight was the classics. Some Sunbeam Talbots for a start, the odd real Lotus even I think, LOADS of mk1 and 2 Escorts plus a few mk3s, a BMW 2002, Opel Kaddetts, Volvo Amazons, a few genuine Metro 6R4s, a genuine Ford RS200 which I was on the road right behind on my way to the rally all the way up from Glasgow to the official start in Perth city centre, it was pretty nice! And McRae had a really nice mk 2 Escort, full FIA modern spec cage and buckets, strengthened shell, a 2 litre Zetec (tuned through the roof! ) six speed manual box feeding the rear wheels, enormous brakes (I had a look around the thing when it arrived before the start) and lots of other pretty impressive mods. I hope I still have the photos I took at the event, but we moved house lately and lots of them got lost or damaged, and besides that my camera (I didn't have a digital until lately) went mental and some of my pictures came out a bit odd as if my camera was possessed! ;D ;D ;D ;D I'll have a look for the good pictures though!
