Well after being a loyal CMR fan I have now been converted to RBR. WOW what an amazing game. Just with playing it one night I am so impressed and wondering why the heck I didn't buy it sooner.
I played it at a friends house whose comp could run it as mine still can't. Have ordered a Nvidia 1600 GT so I will be counting the days until that comes. How frustrating to get a taste but have to leave.
Oh well. Only wishes are 1. Skoda Fabia 2. Ford Focus 3. Germany rally

The Skoda Fabia and Ford Focus are coming soon. Physics for both cars are available at BlackHole Motorsports.
You can get both the 307 and Octavia Evo2. Group N4 Subaru and Mitsubishi cars and S1600 Peugeot 206 are now available.

Well slowly but surely getting through rally school. Doing quite well with a controller. I am using my logitech Xbox controller. He didn't have very kind words for me in the first part though I am still rediculously giddy about this game. I have been waiting soooo long to play it. Love the stages too. Tarmac is very tough though. Reid doesn't seem to let me know about the hairpins quick enough....plus going from Grist's note style to Reid's is taking some getting used to.

when i rented the game (ps2) really hated the tarmac rally in france? that was so difficult oftern hit the barriers on outside of corners
same reason the notes were rubbish

Download the Real Reid mod from BHMotorsports. It is much much better. And download some setups from the SwedishSimracers site. The default tarmac setups are horrible! But find one you like and you'll make up a lot of time.
Real Reid is a must, 'cos the default notes are not good. Real Reid is much, much, MUCH better! If you're getting the notes too late, you can also adjust it in the settings... call distance and stack.
Save up for a wheel, it's really worth it. It makes the experience so much better, 'cos the force-feedback is so well done. It really is like driving a car.

I was looking at some mod sites and was wanting some input from you Vivski. ;D Questions: -Do the car mods just add a different paint scheme to a current car or do they add a new car altogether -Do you have any trouble with the mods -What are some musts you think I should download.
What I would like are: Better pacenotes, different paint schemes and different cars if poss(focus and Fabia)
thanks gren

Okay, Focus and Fabia are coming... Musts: - Real Reid (from BHMotorsports) - Wally's plugin (Wally's RBR site) - Steering wheel - Setups (off SwedishSimracers site) Good: - DATtool (for installing mods) - RBRdll v1.3 (allows you to modify the pacenotes) - Fraps (video capture program) - the real snow mod - there's also a mod for all the real driver and team names The new car models of Tommy's site and the "new cars" off BHMotorsports are new models. All the rest are just skins. The way to tell, it when you're installing it, if you have to change the physics.rbz file, you're changing the car's physics. If all the install changes is the files in the texture folder and the Cars.ini, then it's just a skin. Beware, the Citroen 2005 and Subaru 2005 models can give you some problems when using Wally's plugin. You can download Group N cars and S1600 cars off Tommy's site. They are very good!! BHMotorsports - www.bhmotorsports.com/rbr/Wally's site - speed.onlinegames.cz/rbr/index.php?setlng=engTommy's site - www.rbrchamp.com/SwedishSimracers - www.swedishsimracers.com/rbrIf there's anything else you need... -Viv-

I recommend that you adjust the input settings, so it's not so sensitive but still responsive. And set up your pacenotes so you get them early enough but not too early. I think I have my distance setting fairly large and stack set to 2.
Anyway, these things you have to fiddle with to get them right for you. Small things can make a big difference.

Also, try Kegetys numeric pacenotes and calius2005's sound mod and tell me if they're any good.
But first of all, install the Real Reid notes, get some good setups, get Wally's plugin and just drive, drive, drive!! Worry about mods later.
I can highly recommend any Citroen and Mitsubishi setups by FOG>BTCCfan. And Akos Paulin has some great Subaru setups too.
But just drive. You will get better with every single stage you do. I have now driven an hour a day for a couple of months and I'm still getting faster and better with every stage.
