Well it looks like a new rally game is in the making for PS2. Its called WRC: Rally Evolution and it looks fantastic. Some new features: -One clip I saw was Gardemeister driving past a broken down Kresta who was in a pushing match with his co-driver! -There are forest fires, rock slides, and floods -The co-driver is all new and will react to your driving or situation. He will sound scared when going around fast corners or when your driving gets bad! www.playstation-e3.com/index.html?jumpTo=en_GBThere is a video on this site. Click on games, then on PS2 then scroll down and find WRC. You will be impressed!

It looks quite good, but some bits seemed a bit silly. There was a burning hut in the background. How often is that in the WRC? . Apart from over dramatic parts like that the game looks quite good. I like the idea of having other cars broken down on the side of the road. I also saw about 4 cars driving at the same time. Is that the Virtual Spectator thing you see on TV or some sort of arcade mode?

Haha, sounds good, I hope RBR take the best bits for RBR2. No real need for burning huts, but always good to see signs of there actually being people you're rallying against. RBR is pretty good in that regard.
The pacenotes is easily the weakest link in all rally games. When they get the pacenotes and co-driver right, rally games will be fantastic. I want to be able to change my notes, write my own from scratch even. I also want to be able to mark down emphasis, so if there's something out of the ordinary like a blind corner which tightens, I want the co-driver to emphasis the TIGHTENS or CAUTION or if the road goes left but it really looks like the road goes right, get the co-driver to emphasise the LEFT.
One effect they should have is if you slam into a tree, the co-driver gets winded and takes a few seconds to recover. Or if you roll really badly the co-driver loses the spot on the page. I can't wait for the PS3, 'cos it will have the processing power to enable the developers to put this stuff in. They'll be able to model differences in the co-driver's voice. So if you have a rough landing, it's not just the same "ARGH" from the co-driver every single time.
Can't wait for the generation of WRC games which get the co-driver right. They'll be incredible!

Hmm, just had a look at the video. It looks very arcadey. Arcade handling with realistic damage. And those rediculous "Extreme" cars are still in it. The handling and physics just don't look right to me.
I use RBR as the measuring stick and RBR certinly has it's problems with the physics (like the way the cars bounce when they crash), but the handling is incredible and the replays look fantastic. This doesn't have the same feel, but I'll wait 'til I've played it to make a proper judgement on it.

Don't know if you have seen the clips from WRC5 on my site, look in "Coming Games" section at www.wildswede.seYou might need a new Codec, the vids are converted from a VOB-file to mpg. You can download new Codec from: www.codecguide.com/download_mega.htmThis codec installs Media Player classic. I had some troubles viewing the vid the first time. It played to fast at the first try, so what I did was: I stoped the vid and clicked on the Play menu, choosed Audio/Options and then I clicked "Audi Decoder" in the left side, and clicked "Normalize". The vid played at right speed after that...
