To be fair - the forum probably just has more actively involved members - I for one have only joined in earlier this year and racked up 400 posts so there's bound to be more "flooding" as such with more members!

I can't orient well there and therefore have to participate only in half of threads!!! ... Pity... Indeed.

You weren't there 2 years ago... I'm afraid you can't understand what a great atmosphere it was... I used to call it a cosy cafe... We had really great discussions. Now it's not so... Just a chat...

I can't orient well there and therefore have to participate only in half of threads!!! ... Pity... Indeed. That what I was talking about. Just one word. it's not a discussion. it's a small talk, chat. Even in joke threads they write non-cars related jokes. And remember my idea, when I first started the joke thread! I suggested to write joke about cars!! remember? But you turned the idea into a non-related flood... Better said, sex-related...

Personally for cosy chats I just stick to MSN. I come on forums for big group discussions to get other peoples help or opinion but like I said that's me and everyone is different - and I respect that.

Curt, you didn't answer on my request... I didn't notice it was a question, i thought it was just a statement. I agree that the sections have got to be revised. Like you said, when you want to post something Peugeot related its hard to decide where to put it as quite a few threads could be placed in numerous places or very few. I plan to remove the 'Pictures' section from V3 as any photos taken at rallies can be added in the new gallery section on the site which members will be allowed to add images to. Then single pictures which are usually posted in the 'Pictures' section can be put in the 'WRC' section. But you turned the idea into a non-related flood... Better said, sex-related... The reason the joke thread is off-topic is because it is in an Off-Topic section so its more for just general chat. I come on forums for big group discussions to get other peoples help or opinion but like I said that's me and everyone is different - and I respect that. I agree, I think the forums discussions recently (besides this huge break from the WRC) have generally got much better as more members start posting as there are more views put forward from people all over the world. The forum used to be good 18 months ago also, but back then there was very few members so discussions weren't as in depth.

Sorry, Curt, but I see it vice versa. Those times discussions were deeper, you could be more attentive to others' thoughts, they could hear yours. but now... It's just like on market... Oh no, better said, stock exchange of 19th century: everyone is shouting short messages with no sense, like "indeed", and think it's a discussion... People hear others ideas not so ofthen and not so carefully, sometimes even don't notice. That's the point. Too much flood for sensible ideas to be noticed.

I think it's only healthy that there seems to be more lively discussions now. You should see some other motorsport forums that exist with far greater numbers of active users (I'm talking about probably 40+ active members), and you should see the almost immature and gratiutious actions that just go on. Here, it's civilised where everyone expresses a point of view, exchange news about rally and other things, post multimedia and actually get involved with the website in a positive manner. Thankfully, this place has managed to avoid people who just join a forum to annoy the hell out of people and not contribute at all.
I understand where you're coming from when people post things like "indeed" and other one word replies. I think in something like General Chat or the videos section, you can get away with just saying thanks, that's not a problem. It's just discussion threads that should have posts that contribute to the overall discussion, and not just constant one word responses, not that the forum has that particular issue.
But if you have a look at some of the posts here, we really full-on go in depth with many of these topics that last sometimes up to a few pages, maybe even more. As more members join and become active, it's only natural that the amount of messages posted increases, which is the point of a forum.

Yeah... you're right... But all this mess makes it difficult to navigate through the forum. Maybe on the V3 there will be an option to look at what is written in the thread without entering it? Just like on RallyForum. it will save a lot of time and allow people like me to keep up with new posts. Cause now I just sometimes don't know where to look and what to write...

Yeah that would be a good idea to see the latest posts with some sort of tag on it. Although a similar system already exists, it's the thing at the bottom that says "XX Most Recent Posts", but I never use it myself personally. Plus making a system where a tag is against every new post I assume would be tricky to implement

No, I meant the system, where you can read the first post without opening the thread itself. Or where you can read the full name of a thread without opening a section. This forum really lacks this system. I sometimes miss good threads, which, had I had the possibility to see the full name of it I would have certainly read.

I just click on to every topic I see! If I don't like it then I don't comment on it! Sometimes the headline of the topic means I don't even bother to go on it (MotoGP for instance) most headers say what the topic is about so surely that helps?

It's good that we now have more members and more discussion. I'm sure all (or most of us) would prefer a larger forum with more members. Over Sauron, you talk about "two years ago" but the forum isn't two years old. When you consider how old some forums are, this is still relatively new, so it's too early to talk about the "good old days". It's good to see we've had some newer members recently beginning to post. jj, 306 Cosworth etc. There's no problem with board flooding, 95% of posts are valuable and contribute to the discussion. There's a handy "new" icon for a thread with new posts on which i use. Just chill

That was just MY suggestion for the new forum. To use the syste RallyForum uses for example.
