As for the rally... it didnt go well atall. It started off at friday morning when my dad arrived to take me and adam down with the car on the trailor and he hadnt bothered to alter a brakcet i needed so i had to drive at light speed to go and get it cut before i could do anything. We set off an hour late due to this arrived after a 6 hour journey with 10 minutes to spare. Then on the way to the accomodation we were following someone because we had no idea where we were going, i said (driving my car) youll have to keep up or we will get lost, first roundabout we get to we al turn left and he goes right ... an hour later after the car had broken a lead so that needed changing i went back to find him and he had gone back to the first area we were. I get out the car and ask him to folow us back as we now know our way there. he rants on about how I apparently "treated him like S*it all day and was speaking to him like he was some sort of to**er" so he decided he was gonna go home leaving me adam and the rally car there with no trailor and no money.
Got back to the accomodation and had to change a front suspention strut, and do the tracing as it was all waaaay out. Then comes saturday - rally day - we arrive get interviewed by sky sports 3 - which was nice - and we set off to the rally. Stage 1 we head out and the dust from the cars infront was so bad that we could see a max of about 30 meters infront in some places and we were going through a forest at 80+mph. one fo the junctions was a slight right hander over a crest, the car went light swapped ends and we were going down a downhill section at about 70mph backwards... scary stuff. By the time we got to stage 4 and getting used to racing on gravel we were 1st beginner and 3rd overall then half way through stage 4 we herd a massivly loud bang. I got out opened the bonnet and was greated by a nice cloud of smoke and flames. one of the pistons had exploded and gone through the side of the engine leaving us with a nice oil fire .
I think thats pretty much our championship hopes gone now for this year so may not bother with the rest of the championship rounds and just do smaller local rounds that are cheaper then go for an all out assult next year.
SS1 was awesome fun - first time on gravel and learnt so much even though i was a bit slow
SS2 amazing 15.95 mile stage loved every second of it although it did get a bit hairy at some points
almost cought the minute man on first 2 stages and dust got impossible to see so we had to slow a bit
SS3 they decide3d to change it to a 2 mnute gap and that made it soooo much easier
here is a vid of ss3 www.megaupload.com/?d=H8JVQ0GO
SS4 - Disaster - unfortunate as we were frst beginner and 3rd overall
ill post pics when i get them
