Just got back from my vacation to Ireland. I was there for 9 days (11 including travel) and have had my fill of Guinness. I found that I liked Smithwicks with a Guinness head better.
I was in Dublin for 3.5 days, Donegal, Galway, and Killarney for 2 days each. Had a blast and now my liver must recover. The weather was great, only rained on the last day in Dublin and our travel days. There was no haze, and at the cliffs we could see where the horizon sky met the sea. Just a great vacation. We were on a tour bus (I was too chicken on to drive on the wrong side) and the tour food stank, so we ended up eating outside the group at the pubs. Now I can say I do know how to participate in a pub crawl.
Any way back to the motoring point, while I was there one of the top news features is where Ben Collins was in the court over this book and blowing his cover as being “The Stig” for the last 7 years. My friends thought it was more important to go to dinner versus hearing what James May had to say on the BBC.
Haven’t seen much of this being mentioned in the press here, and didn’t have time to check over there. So was this a publicity ploy, or real? I knew he was fired, but are they going to kill him off like they did Perry McCarthy?
In this country it is called “Freedom of Speech”, that is depending on what type of non-disclosure contract was signed.

It was real and they already dumped him.
Jeremy Clarkson was quite pissed off and there's strong rumours that there will never be a Stig again.
