Lol, apparently passionately expressing my views about the game has earned me a slap on the wrist. It felt good to vent my frustrations. I used to have an account on the Codies forum and would regularly contribute ideas and discussion about CMR. Viv - I'm a mod at the DiRT 2 section. I got told off by admins for asking a question about the game which was being asked by pretty much everybody. I used to like being on the forums and I was given a moderator title for running a DiRT competition on the forum which around 20-30 people signed up for. I think it's absolutely pathetic and disgraceful that someone cannot post their views. I saw your post and agreed with it (although I didnt post that because I'd get told off again LOL) and I didnt see any reason in the way you wrote your message as being against any forum rules at all. Hah well that's changed my opinion of Codemasters - pahetic! Same here.

Brand new previews uk.xbox360.ign.com/articles/986/986301p1.htmlwww.rockpapershotgun.com/2009/05/26/dirt2-hands-on-devs-speak-expensive-chair/"“The memory of Colin McRae lives on in this fuel-injected sequel”
“There's a pervading atmosphere of being part of a genuine event, of partaking in a true festival of speed”
“[Battersea] is undoubtedly the jewel in the crown of the game's track selection and it's a distillation of DIRT 2's philosophy of bigger, better and more extreme”
“One recurring criticism of the original DiRT was the over-light handling across its vehicle set, with the cars never feeling like they were truly engaging with the gravel, mud and tarmac of the game's tracks. That's been addressed with aplomb for the sequel, with the handling feeling assured across all three cars placed at our disposal”
“Across all three vehicles, the sense of connection with the track has been significantly improved since the first game. Surface changes are handled supremely well with the transfer from loose gravel to tarmac communicated primarily through the handling and supplemented by good use of the force feedback"

Sounds good. But the handling has to be built from scratch if it's going to actually "feel" like you're driving a car. If you can still drive dead straight on a loose gravel road by flooring the accelerator and letting go of the left stick, it will be another fail grade from me. A rally game without bump-steer is not a rally game.

Just found out this is being released on Wii and DS too. Seems I might be able to experience the disappointment first hand ;D

Demo is out on PSN and XBL Marketplaces - you can drive a CORR buggy and a Mitsubishi Eclipse GTR trailblazer car on a point to point stage in Morocco.
My first impressions - OMG WOW I WANT THIS.
Handing has been significantly improved and the brakes dont make your car stop from 100mph to 0 in half a second, it's still arcadey but has decent physics... if you get me

I wanted it at first and actually its out just at the UK PSN store and not in euro store as codies messed something up . Anyway I still were able to play it and yes by handling and gameplay I would really buy it up no question about that BUT!!!
I probably wont.. The game is great,no doubt on that one but I just dont know do I wanna drive the game modes like trailbrazer and such in locations like Malaysia,Marocco,London,X-Games,Croatia,China,Baja and Tokyo with the cars like Mitsubishi Eclipse,BMW or some CORR buggy. If the cars would atleast be a bit different I would truly give a go.
I dont have nothing against American style racing as I love stuff like that and Rally Raid as a mode is big bonus too. I also dont have nothing agaisnt the American drivers as I could support guys like Pastrana,Mirra,Block and Foust specially as those guys has done a lot for their own sports and after that has been lifting the popularity of rallying at the States!
My only concern just is that will the game offer what I want and at the moment, roads in Croatia on Block´s impreza or in street coloured EVO10 aint what I wanted to see!

I know Will have it and likes it a lot! I havent got it even when I think it as a pretty good game by handing but to me it just doesnt offer enough of cars and real style events to play. Even rallying is pretty much like the trailblaze where the cars leave to the track after 5-10 seconds so you will catch the guy ahead of you pretty easily at easier levels and when you finish, fireworks will fly!
Might pick it up when it isnt a full price game no more but at the moment Im focused to play NHL10 and Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 and yup for rally games, RBR at the computer.

Probably the best off-road racing game I've ever played, and my favourite in the McRae series. It detracts a little bit from rallying, however the rallying that is in the game is very very good - staggered starts, beautiful stages, and some nice cars too, and a choice of two co-drivers, Ross (Scottish) and Chloe (American).
The rallycross is a lot of fun. Racing around Battersea Power station is just fantastic, and the Rally Raid tracks aren't bad either.
I bet you lot are most interested in the rallying aspect of the game so I'll go into detail about that first, Cars: - Subaru Impreza WRX STi - Subaru Impreza WRX STi Group N - Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX - Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X - Nissan 350Z - BMW Z4 - Pontiac Solstice - Ford Escort Mk2 - Colin McRae R4 - Subaru Impreza WRX STi 1995
There's an RS200 in the rallycross category. The '95 Scoob doesn't have McRae's old WRC livery sadly but still a nice addition. The GpN Impreza's my favourite at the moment.
There's 3 rally tracks- 1 long, and 2 short tracks that are sections of the longer stage - really my only gripe with this game that it doesn't have enough tracks. Japan has 2 rallycross tracks, and that's it. There's rally stages in Croatia, Malaysia, China, Morocco and Baja. The other locations only have rallycross tracks- LA has a X-Games lookalike stadium with a HUGE jump. London has Battersea Power Station which is EPIC and Japan has a Race Driver GRID track with dirt on lol.
The pacenotes are good too, you have the option of simple notes (easy, medium, hard + don't cuts + caution + crests/jumps) or technical (1-6left/right, hairpin, tight hairpin, don't cuts+ keep left/mid/right + jumps + dips + bumps + cautions)
The career gets a bit repetitive, but there's some DLC in the pipeline for DiRT 2 which should add some interesting content.
Trailblazers are just like Hillclimbs from DiRT. They are loosely like the rally tracks with the staggered starts but no codriver and 1000x the horsepower LOL
