Rally Italy was an exciting rally from start to finish. The RedBull Skoda team continues to improve as they claim a win with James and a points finish from both of their drivers. They now lie 2nd in the manuf. battle. Curt overcame his shunt from the last rally to get 3rd place which is a great boost for him and the team. And Matt and Citroen showed that they are the team to beat as he took 2nd place and the 8 points that go with it. The rally did see retirements also. Igo ran a 1st stage with a 3rd fastest time, but was caught out on the 2nd stage, rolling his 307 putting him out of the rally. FTRS was the next driver to leave the rally. He had a big crash in his Focus. The car tumbled end over end, completely destroying his Focus. Both drivers walked away, but were taken to hospital for checks. *Igor rolled his 307 This picture shows you just how safe a RFC car is, as both driver and co/driver walked away. James and his Skoda took a convincing 1st place

Well another great finish for the team. 4th place was great considering how rough the rally was. Its good to get places like this as it really motivates the team! Also congratulations to James for a great win!

Red Bull Skoda:
I am reasonably happy with my fifth place, and with James' cracking win we are looking handily placed in the manufacturers. Kronos are a strong team, and hopefully, with some more good finishes like that, maybe we could even win!

Kronos Report:
Well for Matt the event was a great success with second overall. More importantly for him he is now back in the lead of the RFC drivers championship. Mixa's event wasnt as good overall after only managing to get 13th overall in the event after stuggling to find the right set up.

deem, the last rallyes has been a catastrofale to me. I was leading the cup with Stobart guys but now the championship is going away as my team mate has 12 points more already. I really hope that in the coming events I can find my speed again and reliability could be ok or I cant even help Citroen for manufacturers title.
I am happy for my team mate and for that our team leads. Also congrats for the rally winner.

Again the pace is not there for us at Ford. The new car is not performing, so it's pretty disappointing. We'll do some more work and hopefully come to the next event with a more competetive package.

Lita
Well, another less than perfect result. There isn't much to say, we had hoped for a better placing because we have endured so much testing and felt we have come quite far-not to be just yet. Were hanging in there, and I assure you, no one is giving up anytime soon.

TUMBO
"Nothing seems to be working in the team. No matter what combinations we try its a case of one step forward EIGHT steps back. The team are pushing hard, we as drivers are pushing hard but the car has NO potential for improvement......losing time hand over foot during the fast open sections and struggling in the corners and under breaking. There is no chance of the team getting anything more than last place. If this continues then I will be enforcing the leaver clause in my contract. The team is on notice. Tumbo is NOT happy and refuses to take the blame for the poor performance of an out of date mongral of a car"

Skoda Press Release
Skoda have taken drastic action over the recent comments second driver Tumbo made immediately following the last round of FRC. In an effort to find a suitable solution to both parties the waiver clause in Tumbo's contract has been rewritten. Tumbo is now given an extender clause for the end of the season, whereby he may choose to remain with the team. Skoda however, now have right to terminate his employment with no notice on 2 grounds: firstly if he brings the team into disrepute and secondly if he is unable to co-operate with team management and mechanics. A team reshuffle will see Tumbo's lead mechanic take on the additional role of tyre support liason. The team hope that this might mend bridges after a falling out with his current tyre specialist.
Skoda were clear in pointing out that with a new car on the way and the team reshuffle they are expecting better performances from their leading pointscorer.
"Lita has slotted in well with the team, we have no complaints with out no. 1 car. however, we are still unable to meet the expectations of Tumbo. We are a small team without the budget of the major players. We understand that drivers want points but with the competition so close and the Citroen's, and Red Bull Skodas in a different class we can't work miracles. This change is a move in the right direction but it is a two-way street."

Not very happy the last two rallies. I have been really struggling for a set up in the Ford for Medium - Soft Gravel.
I enjoy the German stages a lot and we've also got some tough gravel rallies to go so im hoping for a good finish to the season. The real season and confirming of new drivers will start now as drivers not happy with team and teams not happy with drivers look for new drivers

It might as well have been called the retirement rally as 6 of the competitors were unable to make it to the finish. Vivski though was able to conquer the Greek roads though and bring home 10 points for Ford. CFinch was the 1st contender to retire when his engine wouldn't fire up on Stage 1. Stage 2 saw more retirements with Mixa flipping his Xsara into into the trees. RJ and R83 also retired on the same stage with suspension problems. And on the last stage Mitch retired when his engine gave up and Lita retired on the road section to stage 3 where her suspension could take no more. Some good points though. The new Fabia looks a lot more competative, setting some great stage times. Subaru's Curt has been very consistant and might end up leading the championship soon. Rally winner Vivski drove a great rally! Suspension trouble for R83's Suzuki More suspension trouble, this time for RJ Lita did what she could to repair the Fabia, but in the end she couldn't go on. Not a good rally for Mixa as he ended up in the trees.
