I have been in California working all week got the weekend off. So what an old fart do?
I went to the Monterey Historics at Laguna Seca. The marquee this year is Cooper.
Plenty of old Cooper racers and lots and lots of mini's.
About 25 new owners of the Mini Cooper S with the works GP package received their cars there and got to do a parade lap including the famous Cork Screw.
The historics have been going on for 33 years now and the closest thing I can think of that it is like is Goodwood.
Lots and Lots of old race cars that you can go up and almost touch. If I forgot my usb cable from the camera or I would of posted some of the 400 pictures I took.

Great pics, Laguna Seca is such an awesome track! Oh did you happen to catch the Toyota F1 demonstration that was there a little while ago, I think it might have happened on the same weekend as when you went?

Yes, Toyota sponsored theHistorics this year.
The F1 car was fast and the only time I heard him lift up was going into the Andretti curve, turn 6 and at the entry to the cork screw.
The F1 demo was twice a day for all three days.
It seemed kind of odd to me that Toyota was the sponsor, mini was the marque, and it was held at a Madza track.
It's all about $$$$$
