If the competition is based on honesty, why can't we just start the championship now and post our times here? I think this is the best way for everyone (holidays, work, ...)
I'm up for it too I think

I'm up for it too I think Maybe it would be better if we PM'd the results to jj, not allowing anyone to see each others times and possibly change them.

I do apologise for the lack of communication!!!!! Im having doubts about this championship after the WRC5 atrosity (sp?) but if i can get a minimum of say 20 cars on the stages (thats only 10 registered competitors driving a car from Group N, S1600) then i'll run it Thanks for your support too Mitch and Roo - much appreciated!

British Rally Championship 2006 (WRC4)
Organisers contact:
Jon Jackson: PM through forum
BRC Group N
1) The championship will consist of 6 rallies each of 10/12 stages in length (TBC) over 6 months. The calendar of events is below: (all dates to be confirmed and will be added on at a later date) 1. Pirelli International Rally 2. Jim Clark International Rally 3. Manx International Rally 4. Ulster International Rally 5. International Rally Yorkshire 6. Wales Rally GB
2) ALL 6 rounds will count towards the championship
3) Roadbook for the each rally will be published on the start date of the rally at 12 noon and end a week later at 12 noon. All competitors will have until this time to post their times to the organisers.
4) Drivers points to be allocated as follows:
1st – 20 points 2nd – 19 points 3rd – 18 points 4th – 17 points 5th – 16 points 6th – 15 points 7th – 14 points 8th – 13 points 9th – 12 points 10th – 11 points 11th – 10 points 12th – 9 points 13th – 8 points 14th – 7 points 15th – 6 points 16th – 5 points 17th – 4 points 18th – 3 points 19th – 2 points 20th – 1 point
This enables the slower runners to have a chance to score points and not the same few experts. The points enable the championship to be competitive throughout the field.
5) The Group N championship, which makes up the BRC, will have just 3 manufacturers. These being Mitsubishi, Subaru and Proton. Therefore, instead of a manufacturers championship, the organisers have made a Teams Cup for ALL teams competing in the BRC in Group N. Team Cup points are as follows: 1st – 18 points 2nd – 16 points 3rd – 14 points 4th – 12 points 5th – 10 points 6th – 8 points 7th – 6 points 8th – 4 points 9th – 2 points
Each manufacturer team will field 3 cars. Due to there being no Manufacturers championship, these will be eligible for the teams cup.
6) Privateer Teams running in Group N can also score points towards the BRC title. There will be no privateer cup.
7) Penalties will be rewarded to the first 10 competitors in the overall championship standings. For example, the championship leader will receive a 2 minute penalty going into Round 2. This will obviously begin on Round 2. The penalties are as follows:
Championship leader: 2 minutes 2nd – 1m 40s 3rd – 1m 20s 4th – 1m 10s 5th – 1m 6th – 50 seconds 7th – 40 seconds 8th – 30 seconds 9th – 20 seconds 10th – 10 seconds
8) A bonus point will be given to a driver who sets the fastest time in his class on the final “televised” stage. This stage will be the final stage of the rally on ALL rallies in the calendar
9) There will also be bonus points on offer for competitors in the top 3 overall at the end of leg 1. These will be as follows:
1st – 3 points 2nd – 2 points 3rd – 1 point Leg 1 will be after SS6
10) Each rally will be 10/12 stages long (TBC). The format for each event will be as follows:
Day 1 ==== 6 stages
Day 2 ==== 4/6 stages
11) The championship will run under the names of rallies found in the real life British Rally Championship. However, they will run on rallies found in the WRC4 game. This will also mean that illegal recceing is outlawed due to the stages only being revealed when the roadbook is released. Each rally will be made up of stages which the organisers feel best represent the stages found in the real rally.
12) When the roadbook is published each driver is limited to 3 runs of each rally. Two runs can be classed as high speed recces and one official high speed run. Drivers are asked to record the time for every stage of each of their 3 runs and submit their BEST time and NOT a combination of 12 best times from all 3 runs!)
13) When the rally is live each competitor has exactly 1 week to submit their times. Any times received before OR after the time limit will be ignored.
14) The results for each rally will be published in the following order:
Sunday: Last day of Rally to submit times Monday – Stages 1-4 will be published Tuesday – Stages 5-9 will be published Wednesday – Stages 10-12 will be published complete with championship tables and rally reports!
15) The final stage of the rally will be known as the “televised” stage. This stage will ALWAYS be the final stage of the rally (be it Super Special or Special Stage). A bonus point will be on offer for the fastest Group N or S1600 car to complete the stage.
16) Another bonus point will be on offer for the “Hankook Star of Rally Award”. This will be awarded to the driver or team for an outstanding performance on each particular event.
17) Failure to submit a time or a wrong time will result in a 1 minute penalty for every error
18) If a competitor does not submit a time they will be given a 5 minute penalty for each time not submitted. However, once given this penalty they can either choose to retire or carry on in the rally
19) Any driver suspected of cheating will go before a ‘jury’ where votes will be taken on whether to disqualify or penalise. This championship is based on trust, DO NOT under ANY circumstances abuse this trust!
S1600
1) The S1600 championship will run alongside the Group N category on ALL of the rallies in the calendar.
2) ALL 6 rounds will count towards the championship
3) The S1600 teams will compete towards a Teams Cup. The points are exactly the same as the Group N teams cup.
4) Each S1600 team are only allowed 2 cars in a team.
5) Drivers points for S1600 will be the same as the Group N points
6) Any S1600 driver who finishes in the top 20 will earn overall drivers points.
7) Penalties will be rewarded to the first 10 competitors in the overall championship standings. For example, the championship leader will receive a 2 minute penalty going into Round 2. This will obviously begin on Round 2. The penalties are as follows:
Championship leader: 2 minutes 2nd – 1m 40s 3rd – 1m 20s 4th – 1m 10s 5th – 1m 6th – 50 seconds 7th – 40 seconds 8th – 30 seconds 9th – 20 seconds 10th – 10 seconds If a S1600 crew is in the Top 10 of the overall drivers points their class penalty will apply and not the overall penalty. The overall penalty will be given to the crew placed below the S1600 competitors.
BRC Masters Category
1) The BRC Masters will run on ALL rounds of the championship
2) The category will only run on Day 1 of each rally. This being the first 6 stages ONLY
3) The drivers points for the BRC Masters will be the same as the Group N and S1600 points
4) The Teams cup points will be the same as the existing categories
5) Penalties will be rewarded to the first 10 competitors in the overall championship standings.
6) The BRC Masters is a separate category to the main British Rally Championship categories so drivers cannot score points for the overall championship. Instead they can score points towards their own title
7) NO EXTREME CARS PERMITTED! Anybody found to be competing with these cars will be excluded from the championship immediately. Only WRC’s will be allowed to compete in this category. Evo 1,2 or 3 cars can be used.
8) Please state when entering the category what Evolution of car you are using so the organisers can take note.
9) As the BRC Masters are not competing on the “televised” stage the bonus points for winning the “star of the rally” award has been tripled to 3 points.
10) This category is for WRC’s only! Any Group N or S1600 cars found under this category will be moved to the correct category.
Other Notes:
1) If you wish to enter the championship please enter the details on the correct thread of the forum (a new one will be started with the name of "WRC4 BRC Entries Thread")
2) Once your Entry has been accepted (you will receive a PM and you will be sent updated entry lists and any news or amendments regularly. Any information will be added to these at any time. You will receive an updated set of regulations when this occurs.
3) You can drive on car from each of the 3 categories available. I, personally advise this, because it means we have closer competition. However, it is your choice
4) For a category to run, i would like to see a minimum of 5 cars as it means closer competition. Thank you for your interest in the WRC4 British Rally Championship. Any queries don’t hesitate to email or PM Jon with your questions and he will do his best to answer your query as quickly and precisely as possible.

That sounds good Jon, I'm fully supporting it. One more question though: On an earlier post, you say we can drive from all 3 categories, but there is no mention of this in the rules. So can we or can't we? IMO it might be easier if you just selected one car class to enter, but hey, your the boss.

thanks chris! Yes you can drive from all 3 categories. I would advise it as it means we'll have more cars and closer competition overall. But its your choice. For a class to run i'd like a minimum of 5 cars (5 Group N, 5 S1600, 5 WRC) so obviously the more numbers we get, the better the competition

I'm considering doing both Group N and S1600 championships, in an Impreza and Fiesta respectively

Why do the rally leaders receive time penalties for the next round? This I don't understand

The penalties will help to keep the players within touching distance of the leaders. But 2 minutes is a bit stiff jj Oh well, I'll just have to win each stage by just over 2 minutes won't I?
