Hi everyone,
I have owned a PS2 for the past 2 months and I think it's about time I purchased a Rally game.
Going through EB Games today (in Aus), I saw WRC 4 priced at $AU 29.95 as well as WRC Evolved for $AU 49.95.
Being a self-confessed bargain hunter, I need any help and advice I can get regarding best value for money etc. Which game should I purchase (if any)?
Thanks -rj

hmmm, you are looking a rally game or something else?? If you can wait a little I would go to the racing game,ToCa Race Driver 3 what will be out at 22nd of February I think and it has a lot of playing and the game has got better to the last title a lot. but what comes to the rally game there are many ok titles to go.. I am sure many will succest you the Richard Burns Rally but in PS2 its not even close so good than in PC where it is awesome. What comes to the WRC games I really like to both WRC4 and for WRC5.ok in single player campaign WRC5 isnt so good as it only has 3 stages per rally but new rallycross mode and the tighter CPU drivers makes it quite a nice game and hey if you buy WRC5 you could join to our WRC5 offline championship . WRC4 is also good and it has 6 stages to go and them are longer ones but CPU drivers level is totally awful and it has the 2004 season. I cant really help I think but I hope that helped a little.

Thanks Mixa,
Your advice certanly did help. Im leaning towards WRC5 but like you said, the 3 stages per rally is a bit of a turn off.

WRC Rally Evolved. Yes the 3 stages per rally is a massive flaw, but it makes up for it in the gameplay. JWRC and WRC Novice championships are dead easy, but the WRC Professional and Expert modes are a challenge. As your girlfriend put it, stop being a tight arse and get the game already

Agree with FTRS! Get WRC5. ok it has 3 stages only but the game is still quite good. Get WRC5 and I think you dont care to 3 stages per rally after that and you can join to the offline championship

Cheers guys,
WRC 5 it is. Let's just hope it's still marked at 50% off. I ain't paying $AU 99.95 for it, that's for sure.

lol! Nicole - take him ogg the game and play it yourself!
Romance on Rallystuff - that is a first!
WRC II Extreme is a good buy, ageing graphics but the stages are based on real stages and some are very long and can take you over 5 minutes to complete! Also you get Safari Rally as it is 2002 season

OK guys. I've purchased WRC 4.
I know WRC 5 was probably the way to go but I figured why not get both? I'd buy WRC 5 eventually, it's just a matter of waiting for it to go platinum and getting use to playing rally games on PS2 before experiencing the hardcore stuff (wouldn't want to embarass myself should I want to join any offline championships in the near future).
Anyways, thanks heaps guys for your insights. WRC 4 really is quite impressive. I've only had a taste of WRC 2 prior and the differences are obvious. Certainly love the spectators moving out of your way and the cameras flashing as you drive by.

Yes and it's rather a shame you can't contact the Evolution Studios personnel on their websiteIf you could do this, we could give them tips, or things we would like to see in the game, or what needs to be improved. btw: RJ you idiot! WRC 4 is not even near as good as WRC:RE... And if you're bothered by the 3 stages, well then start a championship for 4 players, and you drive all 4 of them! You have 12 stages/country then! ;D And also: WRC4 is becoming boring after a while if you don't have the online mode... lucky I got all the WRC-games and the online mode, so I'll never be bored
